What does it mean for us to embrace the work the Savior did on the cross?

Why is something like this Important?

• Some people have no idea what it looks like to follow Christ. Christianity looks like something

• Many times we encourage people to get saved, but we do not explain the implications of what that

means. Jesus said count the cost before you follow me.

Ashley with tears in her eyes said i love you but your probally going to hell . it was in that moment the holy spirit convicted me , because i realzied that i was saying es to jesus with my mouth only. i wasnt honoring him with my thoughts, my choices , my purity and in the season of life that when i made the choices that jesus you arent just going to be my get out of hell card. i need you to be not just my saviour but i need you to be my lord. and whatever purpose and plan you have for me ill dot it.

Nicodemus Story:  Jesus tells Nicodemus that unless he is born by the spirit he wont see the kingdom of God.

Why does our spirit need to be reborn? Why Jesus?

Without Jesus are caught in this cycle of sin and we cant break our selves free

It’s Because of the fall mankind is eternally separated from God. And we are created with this space in our hearts that only he can fill.

Romans 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that

God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

When we confess and believe God puts the holy spirit inside of us.

The part of us that was disconnected is now connected to God and alive.

We become a new creature.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold,

all things have become new.

Does this mean you automatically stop sinning?

That’s not something that just happens overnight.

There are Benefits and Side Effects

Benefits:

• In Relationship With the Father, Son and Holy Spirit

• We are no longer have to be held in bondage to.

• Hell is off the table.

Sides Effects

• Regeneration : our hearts , minds and wills start to alleging with heart, mind and will of God.

1. New Heart

• Our affections and our attitudes reflect Gods

• We have unlimited access to the fruit of the spirit

• We find ourselves loving what God and hating what he hates.

• He provides guidance, inspiration, and revelation.

• Where we once had to rely on our own thinking and what could comprehend. God teaches, speaks,

leads, comforts, and inspires.

• We receive wisdom and knowledge far beyond our former capacities. Our old “blindness” is

replaced by unfolding revelation.

3. New Will

• Like a parent, the Holy Spirit teaches, disciplines, convicts, encourages, and comforts until we not

only obey God but also come to agree that His ways are right.

Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good

purpose.
