Are The moves I make based on my faith
Are you faith driven?
Does your faith dictate your movement and prayer life?
What moves your faith?
What has to happen to activate our faith?
Faith is to be the shield that’s out in front
Best moves are faith moves
Jesus is about 15 miles from his final destination
35 As he drew near to Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging.
35 His condition was on full display:
35 His condition was on full display:
He was blind publicly ( can’t cover his blindness)
He was begging publicly
It didn’t matter what the crowd knew about him, he knew he had to make some faith moves
I trust God past what people may know.
The beginning of faith is your willingness to show up broken
36 And hearing a crowd going by, he inquired what this meant. 37 They told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.”
Cease This Moment
Cease This Moment
You will not always have this opportunity
38 And he cried out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Verbal proclamation of his faith
Verbal proclamation of his faith
38 His faith Called out to Jesus
Jesus - master teacher rabbi (PRIEST)
Son of David - Messiah POSITION
Mercy/ shows his POWER
Cry of mercy like this shows he knows that salvation depends entirely on God’s grace and mercy
He knew more about Jesus than he saw
He was calling based on what he knew and heard about Jesus
Bartimaeus was telling Jesus My faith knows who you are
39 And those who were in front rebuked him, telling him to be silent. But he cried out all the more, “Son of David, have mercy on me!”
Faith must be persistent
Faith must be persistent
His faith had to resist the murmurs from the crowd
What do you do when your faith meets resistance?
The crowd was telling him to be silent
Overcome resistance with persistence
40 And Jesus stopped and commanded him to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him,
Will your faith move make Jesus stop in his tracks
Will your faith move make Jesus stop in his tracks
Do you believe enough to make Jesus stop
Mark says he threw off his cloak and jumped to his feet
41 “What do you want me to do for you?” He said, “Lord, let me recover my sight.”
Your faith has to answer Jesus question:
Your faith has to answer Jesus question:
What do you want me to do for you
What do you believe that Jesus can do?
42 And Jesus said to him, “Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.” 43 And immediately he recovered his sight and followed him, glorifying God. And all the people, when they saw it, gave praise to God.
Use your Faith, Follow Him and Glorify Him
Use your Faith, Follow Him and Glorify Him
We tend to miss our opportunity to glorify God because no one truly knows what we are going through or believing God for
We are just waiting for the praise report but no one knew the prayer request
It is in the prayer request we see your faith
In the praise report we give Him glory
Depend on Christ for our spiritual blindness, living in the dark
When we are called too live in the light as the light of God
Make a faith move and watch Jesus make the next move!
