Matthew 21:12–14 CSB
12 Jesus went into the temple and threw out all those buying and selling. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the chairs of those selling doves. 13 He said to them, “It is written, my house will be called a house of prayer, but you are making it a den of thieves!” 14 The blind and the lame came to him in the temple, and he healed them.
What we see in Jesus
He is a man of action
1 John 3:18 “Little children, let us not love in word or speech, but in action and in truth.”
Confrontational about injustice
Isaiah 61:8 “For I the Lord love justice; I hate robbery and injustice...”
Passionate about relationship
Isaiah 56:7 “...my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.”
Compassionate to those who need help
Psalm 12:5-7 “5 “Because of the devastation of the needy and the groaning of the poor, I will now rise up,” says the Lord. “I will provide safety for the one who longs for it.” 6 The words of the Lord are pure words, like silver refined in an earthen furnace, purified seven times. 7 You, Lord, will guard us; you will protect us from this generation forever.”
