Exodus 35-36
; Construction in Israel
Sermon in a sentence: God is building up Israel as they build the tabernacle.
Sabbath Confinements (vs. 1-3)
God gave Israel the Sabbath for their benefit not as a punishment.
God is reminding his people that they must build the temple in God’s ways, not theirs.
Free-Will Contributions (vs.4-36:7)
Remember, the Israelites were given these resources because God blessed them.
Also, God had just reestablished the covenant with them after they sinned against him.
Now, as a response, the Israelites freely give what the Lord had given to them.
Tabernacle Construction (vs.6-38)
The people make the tabernacle as God had originally commanded them. (25:1-9: Free-Will Offering, 26:1-37: The Tabernacle)
God is going to dwell with His people.
