THE PRAYER OFFERED IN FAITH!
James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick!
In our previous message, we learned about The War we Fight; The Weakness we Feel and The Weapons we Favor!
We learned there are Soldiers who will Fight for us; Partners who will Stand with us and Altars that are Established by us!
We are in the process of taking our Prayer Ministry To The Next Level!
Today, we will learn that The Prayer Offered In Faith is part of a Next Level Prayer Ministry!
There are at least two major principles we need to know about The Prayer Offered In Faith!
I. The PROBLEMS we will Face INVITE it!
James 5:13 Is anyone among you SUFFERING?
James 5:14 Is anyone among you SICK?
*Suffering and Sickness are two problems that will encourage prayer to be offered in faith!
A. EMOTIONAL problems will be ENCOUNTERED by us!
James 5:13 Is anyone among you suffering?
*What does the word suffering mean? It means internal distress caused by external circumstances!
*It is also translated as “hardships” in Paul’s letter to Timothy!
B. PHYSICAL problems will be EXPERIENCED by us!
James 5:14 Is anyone among you sick?
*What does the word sick mean? It means to be without strength; to be fatigued; to be bed-ridden; to be unable to work
*It was used to describe Lazarus and he died!
*It was used to describe Dorcas and she died!
*It was used to describe the man at the pool of Bethesda and he was unable to walk!
C. SPIRITUAL problems will be EXPOSED to us!
James 5:15 And if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven . . .
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed!
*There are times when Emotional, Physical and or Spiritual problems will invite the Prayer of Faith to be offered by us!
*If and or when we find ourselves in those circumstances, how is prayer offered in faith?
II. The PROCEDURES we must Follow to ACTIVATE it!
James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise Him up!
Jesus said it this way:
Mark 11:22 Jesus answered and said, “Have faith in God!”
*What are the principles involved in activating the prayer offered in faith?
A. We must actually SAY it!
James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith!
It is not enough to “think” a prayer in faith, we must actually SAY the prayer offered in faith!
Mark 11:23 Truly I say to you, “whoever “SAYS” to this mountain, be removed . . .
B. We must actually BELIEVE it!
James 5:15 And the prayer offered in FAITH!
Mark 11:24 Therefore I say to you, all thing for which you pray and ask, believe . . .
*The prayer offered in faith believes your prayer has been heard before the answer is manifested!
*What is the difference between Hope and Faith? Hope is a joyful anticipation of seeing God’s goodness in the future.
Faith is “taking” right “now” what God offers to you in His word!
C. We must RECEIVE it!
James 5:15 And the prayer offered in faith WILL restore the one who is sick!
James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another SO THAT you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much!
D. We must ACT on it!
James 2:17 Even so, faith, if it has no works is dead, being by itself!
James 5:17 NASB95
Elijah was a man with a nature like ours, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.
James 5:18 NASB95
Then he prayed again, and the sky poured rain and the earth produced its fruit.
Today, is there anyone suffering, is there anyone sick?
We are willing to partner with you in your healing!
