Why are we talking about the need for missions?
Why are we talking about the need for missions?
There is a need
Much of this true information might have been new or even shocking to us. If we don’t know, how are we going to make a difference with the REAL needs out there?
There is a need out there for us to be involved in the world regardless of where you are in life.
growing in the heart for missions is not just about knowing that we should care
How can we have a bigger heart?

Knowledge
Knowledge
Hearing from people about certain types of issues affects us differently than just hearing about it.
we can have a bigger heart for missions by growing in knowledge.
Even though I never went to Egypt, just talking to my friends about their experience in Egypt helped me to connect more.
Talk about the example of me not knowing about the Port blowing up in Lebanon 3 years ago.
Understanding different peoples helps us communicate. Lester Sumrall talked about African tribes killing each other because of a lack of knowledge.
If believers think their enemy is flesh and blood out of ignorance, we will fight people instead of spiritual realities.
Relationship
Relationship
The goal in relationship is to have connections.
Their needs become my needs.
Just because I have relationships with people in Thailand, I care more about them because they are real to me.
His quote shows us that we are to love them the way that Jesus loves them.
If their needs are our needs, we will care more.
without being burdened by the problems, our hearts should move with compassion like Jesus’ heart was moved with compassion towards Jerusalem, a city where he didn’t know every individual, but his was in pain because of them.
go into the details about how the people of Thailand are very unlikely to hear the gospel message and the rarity of the churches. In that culture it appears as though Jesus Christ is irrelevant.
a lot of the women that worked at YWAM couldn’t find a believing husband
The travelingteam.org/stats states that there are 3.28 billion unreached 96.3% of them are in the 10/40 window

It is sad to think that this area of the world is where the gospel originated. In fact it is estimated that 25% - 50% of the global population of Christians were in the middle east for the first thousand years after Jesus Christ according to World Christian Encyclopedia. In the early 1900s, 13% of the population in the middle east were Christian. In 2020, 4% of the middle east are Christian. Why are there so few? Because of political and social problems, Christians are immigrating out of the middle east to avoid the potential danger. This is the importance of not just going into new regions but also maintaining the areas.

If authorities are evil, how can we respond?
If authorities are evil, how can we respond?
I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. This is good and pleases God our Savior, who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
Praying is a significant part in the change of a country.
Politics affects whether or not we can do church.
60% of the unreached live in countries that are closed off to Christian missionaries from North America.

More missionaries or believers mean more people can hear about Jesus.

Jairo Namnun who works in latinamerican countries said on the gospel coalition website
* Theological sources aren’t as common either. It is easy to find dozens of blogs of sound doctrine in English, while only 2 might be in Spanish.
Language barriers were the #1 biggest hindrance on outreach to Thailand.
This section will be about evangelizing to these peoples.
1 Corinthians 9:22-23
When I am with those who are weak, I share their weakness, for I want to bring the weak to Christ. Yes, I try to find common ground with everyone, doing everything I can to save some. I do everything to spread the Good News and share in its blessings.
