Keep The Passover

2 Chronicles 30:1 And Hezekiah sent to all Israel and Judah, and wrote letters also to Ephraim and Manasseh, that they should come to the house of the LORD at Jerusalem, to keep the passover unto the LORD God of Israel. To begin with Hezekiah was the Son of King Ahaz; He was king of Judah, He was the 12th king since the division of the Northern and southern kingdom. Thingswere out of order and Hezekiah began to reign according to 1 king and 2 chronicles when he was 25 years old. And in light of his parents and grandparents Hezekiah seems to be a sort of root out of dry ground, sort of a Rose in the middle of a field of weeds, sort of a jem and a jewel in the midst of plain ordinary old rocks. in short Hezekiah was a good king and his people before him and after him were rotten. And that’s the ugly truth. Because the bible says in 2 chronicles 29 that in his first year of the first month as king, Hezekiah opened the doors of the house of the Lord. He fixed the ill repaired church. Hezekiah brought the priests and the Levites back to temple worship. Hezekiah made them sanctify themselves and the House of the Lord God Jehovah Adonai. The people were so far out of order that they have turned their backs on God. Tell your neighbor: Don’t turn your back on God. Hezekiah made a covenant with God and asked God turn away His wrath and not to kill them. The Priests and the Levites cleaned up everything and had the altar of the Lord prepared and sanctified. They had Church! They sang and played instruments and offered up offerings and then bowed down and worshipped. They had bonifide clergy there The Priests was there The Levites were there. Gad the Seer was there and Nathan the Prophet was there So the service of the house of the Lord was set! in order. God prepared them suddenly. And that tells me it doesn’t take long to get right church and let’s go home, but you got to be willing. The people were on one accord.

Then in chapter 30 Hezekiah had a mind to go big. so he wrote letter and sent them throughout all of Israel and Judah. He said that they should come to the House of the Lord at Jerusalem to Keep the Passover unto the Lord God of Israel. They decided to take communion take the love feast, take the eucharist, take the mass, and to take the passover as it was originally called in the second month. We take communion at Shiloh on the second Sunday of every month. They decided the second month because beforehand they had not done things properly. And sometimes you just have to have a reset. Tell your neighbor : Reset. Ain’t nothing wrong with a reset especially when things been out of order for a long time. Let me just say this to you If what you have been doing in the past haven’t been working then Reset. Change that thing for the better.Sometimes you’ve got to reset in your home reset at school reset on your job reset in the church reset in your community and reset in your heart mind and soul.

Hezekiah knew that the priests had not sufficiently sanctified themselves and the people had not gathered themselves as the word of God says” Forsake not the assembling of yourselves” Don’t let the devil fool you God wants us at Church. And so the bible says that proclamations were sent out throughout the land like the Pony Express, like Well Fargo, Like Fed Ex, like UPS, Like Aamazon, the and like the US postal service.. Rich and poor alike got the message. And that’s what the Gospel is like . The gospel of the Good news that ministers to the masses from the messenger on behalf of the Master.

Hezekiah had a hard job. Somebody ask me why Rev? Because Hezekiah knew that their forefathers were hard headed hard hearted and stiffnecked people who God had to punish over and over and over for their blatantly disobedience. Hezekiah said when y’all come back , come back righteous so that the fierceness of God’s wrath may turn away from you. Hezekiah said because if you come back right, you and your children will find compassion even from your enemies and God will be gracious and mericful and God will not turn His face away from you. I like it 3x because The word of God says For I’ll never leave you nor forsake you… Said the Lord of Hosts. Thank you Jesus 2x Tell your neighbor : But you’ve got to come back to Him. Then the bible say that after the letters and the decrees went out decent and in order some of them laughed at the messengers the bible says they laughed them to scorn and mocked them.

And so when they laugh at you while you get your life back in order,

SO WHAT laugh all you want because I’ve got a true saying You help me win or watch me win but I will be winning” Dwayne Wade told his wife Gabrielle Union in a commercial baby it’s not a competition she said “I know but I’m still winning.” Let them talk let laugh like silly little children but you’re still winning. Then in verse 11 the bible say there’s always going to be somebody who want to do right. Asher Manasseh and Zebulun came to Jerusalem and Judah was in the hand of God with one heart to be obedient to the commands of the king and the princes by the word of the Lord.

And so now that they are gathered from everywhere and they are assembled in Jerusalem. The bible says it was a very great congregation. They had a mind to live for the Lord because they took down the altars, took down the altars for incense and threw them away down in the brook of Kidron. Then they properly killed the passover on the 14th day of the second month. The bible says the Priests and the Levites were ashamed and went on and sanctified themselves. In other words you can’t be no Rev do wrong and no Deacon do wring and handle God Communion. Because after they sanctified themselves they brought burnt offerings into the house of the Lord. They was a process all by itself. Then in verse 16 the bible says they stood in their proper place after their manner, according to the law of Moses the man of God. I’ve got on my robe because it’s communion deacons are dressed in suits because it’s communion. This is the Sunday that you ought to be orthodox ed. And so the Priests sprinkled the blood, which they recieved of the hand of the Levites. And in 2023 it’s the deacons responsibility to prepare the communion and have enough for the congregants in attendance and it’s the pastors job to administer the holy sacraments. There were a whole lot of people in the congregation that were not sanctified to participate in the communion passover service. But verse 18 declares that Hezekiah prayed for them, saying The good Lord pardon every one.V 19 That prepareth his heart to seek God, The Lord God of his fathers, though he be not cleansed according to the purification of thee sanctuary. I’ve been pastoring 30 years now and I know everybody in here isn’t right or fit to take communion, I know that. Good knows that too. And that’s why He sent me to ask Him on your behalf. And I’ve got 5 simple words that will get us straight. Somebody say What it is Rev? Lord Have Mercy On Us. 3x And the bible says in V 20 And the Lord hearkened to Hezekiah, and healed the people.

That tell me that Prayer Changes things, prayer changes conditions and pryaer changes the circumstances in our lives. Um Um the bible says that they celebrated the Passover with gladness the priests and the levites praised the Lord day by day they sang and they played their instruments loudly And King Hezekiah taught the word of God comfortably. Oh Lord. The had communion service for 7 days straight. and it got so good until they decide to have communion 7 more days Ain’t God Alright. They had a grand old time in the Lord. Yes. And so while you’re here the bible says let everything that have breath praise the Lord. praise ye the Lord. Because One Friday yes Lord they took my Lord and your God and led Him on up Calvary hill. Put him on a cross. They nail His hands and riveted His feet. They stretched Him wide and hung Him up high and OH He died 3x And they put Him down in Joseph New tomb. And He stayed there all night Friday night Stayed there all day Saturday . Stayed there all night Saturday Night, But Early 3x Sunday morning He Got Up with All Power in His Hands Oh yes He did.
