John 5:31-47: Four Faithful Witnesses

Intro

I want you to imagine yourself in a courtroom.

Its austere, noble…the walls and floors are covered with a rich mahogany.

The room is filled with the wooden chairs covered in with a fine black leather.

There is a rustling of papers, people taking their seats, lawyers preparing their arguments, and most of all there is a buzz in the air.

And you are right in the middle of it.

You sit in the Jury there to play a crucial role in what you hear.

There is a trial, and you’re there to hear all the evidence and render a verdict, not just in the case of the century, but in the case of your eternity.

The verdict is for you.

What will you do with all the evidence?

And the aim of this trial is very simple: Is Jesus Christ the Son of God?

That is the situation we find ourselves in in John 5:31-47.

Jesus is on trial. Not in an official courtroom but out in the open air for all to see.

He had just healed a man on the Sabbath.

And the Jews, the religious and political leaders of the day have brought charges against Him accusing Him of breaking the Sabbath.

And what Jesus said in response was even more shocking than healing a man on the Sabbath.

John 5:17: Jesus answered them, “My Father is working until now, and I am working.”

Now the word John uses for answered is not the word you would normally expect to hear.

Its very particular.

The Greek word John uses is a word usually reserved for courtroom trials when a formal defense is being made.

So answered them and gave a formal defense.

And here’s the genius of Christ.

His defense put everyone else on trial.

He confronted the Jews on really the central issue of the gospel: Who is Jesus Christ?

And that defense confronts us today and asks what will we do with Jesus’ words.

My Father is working until now, and I am working.

Jesus could not be clearer.

He is the Son of God, one with and equal to the Father; the Savior of the World.

That’s how the Jews took it.

Verse 18: This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

This truth confronts everyone.

Because if Jesus truly is the Son of God than He is worthy of all of our love, worship, adoration, and praise.

He is worthy of all of our life.

If Jesus really is the Son of God, than all must believe in Him.

And after making His case that He truly is the Son of God who gives life and will judge all the earth Jesus comes to verse 31 where He backs up His claim with Four Trustworthy Witnesses...

Four testimonies that prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Jesus Christ really is the Son of God and the Savior of the World.

You see, Christ puts everyone else on trial. What will you do with Jesus?

Because the verdict is already in.

God declared Him to be the Son of God in power by his resurrection from the dead; that’s Rom. 1:4.

Jesus is God because the grave is empty.

Now the only question is what are you going to do about it?

This trial is not about determining Christ’s guilt or innocence.

That’s already done.

This trial is about what will you do with all the evidence.

What will you do with the testimony of these Four Faithful Witnesses who all agree: Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the World?

Jesus did not give us these witnesses to vindicate Himself.

Verse 34 says He gave us these witnesses that we might be saved.

These witnesses are for us that we might hear their testimony and make their testimony our testimony.

That we would believe in Jesus Christ and by believing have life in His name.

So who are these witnesses, what is their testimony, and what are you going to do about it?

As we work through this passage, we are going to look at that these Four Faithful Witnesses that prove Jesus is the Son of God.

And more than that, we are going to look at what these witnesses say in hopes that we can take their testimony and make it our testimony that we might be believe in Jesus Christ and be saved.

So in the spirit of the trial, let’s call the first witness to the stand with point number 1...

I. The Faithful Witness of John the Baptist: Jesus is the Son of God and the True Sacrificial Lamb

John 5:31-32 If I alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true. There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true.

This takes us back to that courtroom theme.

Jesus isn’t saying His testimony is only true if other people say it is.

Jesus’ testimony is true no matter what (John 8:14).

Jesus is talking here in the context of a trial.

And according to the Mosaic Law the truth of a matter was established on the testimony of 2 or 3 witnesses (Deut. 17:6, 19:15).

That’s the standard of justice.

If you want to prove something in a court of law you need the testimony of 2 to 3 independent witnesses.

And so what does Jesus do? He gives four!

He goes over the top. Above and beyond the bare minimum required by the Law as if to say there is no denying it.

Jesus is undoubtedly the Son of God.

You see how Jesus turns the trial around and confronts them, and us today, with undeniable truth and begs the question: What are you going to do about it?

And then the next verse: There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true.

This another is the testimony of God Himself.

Jesus is not talking about John the Baptist who comes up in the very next verse because in verse 34 Jesus says that He does not receive the testimony about Himself from man.

So in other words, what Jesus is saying is His claim to be the Son of God comes from God Himself.

God Himself testifies that Jesus is the Son of God sent by God the Father.

He is the Supreme Witness above and behind all the other witnesses, basically saying if you deny me…if you deny my words and the witness of these God sent Testimonies that testify about me, then you’re not just rejecting me, you are ultimately rejecting God Himself.

He’s telling the Jews “I am the Son of God and the only way to the Father is through me (John 14:6).

Now that’s a big claim. Jesus and the Father are One. Only a man who was truly and fully God could ever truly say that.

And from there… from that foundation, Jesus brings forth His first witness: John the Baptist.

John 5:33-36 You sent to John, and he has borne witness to the truth.

We saw this back in John 1:19-34.

John the Baptist was baptizing and growing a huge following so the Jews sent out a delegation to find out who John the Baptist was.

It was obvious he was somebody.

All of Jerusalem and Judea was going out to Him (Matthew 3:5), and some people even started wondering if He was the Christ (Luke 3:15).

It was impossible to deny that he was sent by God (John 1:7) so the Jews sent to Him and John the Baptist was very clear.

I am not the Christ. I am the one crying out in the wilderness, Prepare the way of the Lord, make his paths straight (Mark 1:3).

That is how John bore witness to the truth.

What this does is immediately establish John as a credible witness.

He is the forerunner to the Messiah.

A God ordained prophet. The first prophet in 400 years!

If a prophet from God said Jesus was the Christ, the Jews had no reason not to believe him.

You sent to John! You thought He was somebody? Why didn’t you listen to him?

Verse 34

Not that the testimony that I receive is from man, but I say these things so that you may be saved. He was a burning and shining lamp, and you were willing to rejoice for a while in his light.

The Jews rejoiced in John’s light in the beginning.

This is the forerunner of the Messiah! Everything we’ve been waiting on.

All of God’s promises are almost here!

But then John kept preaching.

Repent! The Kingdom of heaven is at hand (Matthew 3:2).

Flee from the wrath of God that is to come (Matthew 3:7).

You hypocrites! Brood of vipers! (Matthew 3:7)

You call yourselves true sons of Abraham, but true sons of Abraham bear fruit in keeping with repentance (Matthew 3:8-9).

John came proclaiming a baptism of repentance to show Israel, You are sinful. You are Unclean.

You are outside the Kingdom of God and the only thing that can save you is God’s grace and mercy.

The very grace and mercy that was about to come with Jesus Christ.

Now that was an unbelievably offensive message for the Jews. Who did John think he is?

So they rejected him.

They rejoiced for little while in his light, but ultimately turned away from him and in turning away from him, lost the very one John was sent by God to point His people to: Jesus Christ.

John’s Testimony

So Jesus brings forth John the Baptist and says John the Baptist bore witness to the truth.

He testified about Christ.

What did he say?

John’s testimony about Christ can be summarized like this.

Jesus is the Son of God who takes away the sin of the world.

He is the Son and the Lamb.

John 1:29, 34 Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!…I have seen and have borne witness that this is the Son of God.

Like a key witness, John pointed to Jesus and said. That’s Him! That’s the Messiah!

That’s the One who’s come to save us from all our sins.

Eternal God

In His ministry, John the Baptist had made it abundantly clear: Jesus was God.

He said He who comes after me ranks before me, because He was before me (John 1:15).

John the Baptist was older than Jesus, but Jesus preexisted Him.

He was Eternal God.

And as the Eternal Son of God He was Great and Glorious, worthy of all worship, adoration and praise.

He ranks before me.

Jesus called John the greatest man that had ever lived (Matthew 11:11).

And here the greatest man that had ever lived said Jesus was greater than him

And not just greater but infinitely greater.

The strap of whose sandal I am unworthy to untie.

That was a slave’s job. The lowest slaves job.

And John the Baptist, the greatest man that had ever lived, said Jesus was so great and glorious that next to Him he was less than even the lowest of slaves.

Lamb of God

But the good news of the gospel is Jesus made Himself a slave for us.

Philippians 2:6-8 Though he was in the form of God, [He] did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant [that’s slave], being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross.

The eternal Son of God took on human flesh to offer Himself as our Sacrificial Lamb.

Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!

As a man Jesus was able to die in our place for our sins.

He was die for our sins as our substitute.

And as the perfect, holy, Son of God the blood of Christ was so infinitely precious he was able to actually pay for them.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life (John 3:16).

That was John’s testimony.

The eternal Son of God came to be a sacrifice for our sins.

The Jews completely missed it.

They sent out to John, but they were blind to his testimony.

They could not see that Jesus was God, and the only way to truly be forgiven from all their sin.

Transition

John was a faithful witness.

He was a burning and shining lamp to light our way to Jesus Christ: The Son of God who takes away the sin of the world.

But that was not the only witness Jesus had.

Verse 36...

But the testimony that I have is greater than that of John.

Greater witnesses than even the Forerunner to the Messiah and prophet sent by God.

And that takes us to witness number 2...

II. The Faithful Witness of Christ’s Works: Jesus is the Savior and Redeemer from All Our Sin

John 5:36 For the works that the Father has given me to accomplish, the very works that I am doing, bear witness about me that the Father has sent me.

The miracles of Christ proved He was the Son of God.

Jesus said they bear witness that the Father has sent me.

We already saw this with Nicodemus, one of the leaders of the Jews.

In John 3:2 He came to Jesus by night and said Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.

Jesus’ works proved that God had sent him.

By their nature, miracles are not common everyday occurrences.

They are rare, impossible acts that have no explanation than God Himself.

In this way, Jesus’ works were a reliable and trustworthy witness.

They weren’t done in secret or hidden off in a corner.

Jesus performed His miracles out in the open where every eye could see.

And he did so many that the people of Israel began to ask John 7:31 How is this not the Christ? When the Christ appears, will he do more signs than this man has done?

Jesus’ miracles were a trustworthy witness because how else could someone do all the miracles that Jesus did if God were not with Him?

If God had not sent Him?

If He were a liar and a fraud?

Jesus’ works proved Jesus’ words.

Jesus said Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves (John 14:11)

All of Jesus’ works proved He was the Son of God and Savior of the world.

Signs

But they were also signs.

Theology in action.

Something that pointed beyond themselves to give us a glimpse of the glory of Christ and who He was.

You can think of Jesus’ miracles as living breathing sermons.

All of them preaching Christ and His saving work.

So what did Jesus’ miracles say?

We know that they were a faithful witness, but what was their testimony on the stand.

Let’s limit it to only the signs we’ve seen so far in the gospel of John.

These would have been the only ones the Jews would have had in mind when Jesus appealed to them.

Water into Wine

The first miracle of Jesus’ ministry was turning water into wine.

In the Old Testament wine was symbolic for joy and God’s blessing. It was used as a metaphor for salvation.

So when Jesus takes six stone water jars for the Old Covenant rite of purification…

Jars you would use to clean yourself before you would go to worship God in the Temple.

And He turns that water into wine...

Jesus was saying He was the New Covenant Messiah and His blood is the only thing that can truly cleanse us from our sin.

Healing Officials

The next miracle was the healing of the Nobleman’s son.

There was boy who was at the point of death and out of sheer grace Jesus healed Him with a word from miles away.

What that sign showed was that Jesus gives eternal life to all who believe in Him by grace through faith.

And that grace is benevolent, free, and mighty to save.

Son Healing the Invalid

And then you have the healing of the invalid…the very sign that led to the confrontation here.

With that sign Jesus showed He is the one who gives true healing and true rest.

This man was an invalid for 38 years...

Helpless, hopeless...absolutely destitute.

And Jesus came to Him and said Do you want to be healed?

And in a moment, immediately He was restored and walked away like new.

The Faithful Witness of Jesus’ signs not only prove He was the Son of God, they testified that He was Messiah, Savior, and Redeemer for all who believe in Him.

And yet still the Jews hardened their hearts and did not believe.

And that takes us to witness number 3...

III. The Faithful Witness of God through Scripture: Jesus is the Hope of Eternal Life

John 5:37-40 And the Father who sent me has himself borne witness about me. His voice you have never heard, his form you have never seen, and you do not have his word abiding in you, for you do not believe the one whom he has sent. You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

Now most commentaries will separate God and Scripture as two separate witnesses saying the Father is one witness and the Scripture is another with the Father’s witness most likely being Jesus’ baptism where the Father said, This is my beloved Son with whom I’m will pleased.

And that’s definitely possible. But that’s not how I take this passage.

I think Jesus is referring to the Father’s witness through Scripture.

How would the Father’s voice at Jesus’ be a witness when Jesus says in the very next verse His voice you have never heard, His form you have never seen.

Take that with Jesus immediately going on to say do not have God’s word abiding in you, and you search the Scriptures, and I think the easiest way to take this passage is the Father bore witness to Jesus Christ through the Old Testament Scriptures and the Jews as students of the Scripture should have seen it.

That the Old Testament all pointed to Christ, and if the Jews had truly known their Bible it would have led them straight to Him.

That’s verse 39...

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

First of all I want you to notice how intimately Scripture is tied to God Himself.

The Father Himself has borne witness about me and Scripture itself bears witness about me.

All Scripture is God breathed (2 Tim. 3:16).

It is the true and perfect Word of God. It is God Himself speaking.

That’s why we are to build all of our lives on His Word.

It is our highest authority because it is the very Word of God Himself.

The other thing I want you to notice is that all Scripture is about Jesus Christ.

It all points to Him. Even the Old Testament.

Remember Luke 24:27…After the resurrection on the Road to Emmaus Jesus held a Bible study with His disciples And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

Most Christians today don’t read the Old Testament.

They almost treat it as an appendix to their Bible.

Yea…its the Word of God but its not something you really need.

But remember what Paul said All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness (2 Tim. 3:16), including the Old Testament.

And the reason why the Jews missed it, and many Christians miss it today is because we don’t know how to read and interpret the Old Testament Christologically…that is with a Christ-centered focus.

When you read the Old Testament, you should be asking how does this point to Jesus?

According to Jesus a true understanding of the Bible will always lead you to Him.

So let me help you.

How is the person and work of Jesus Christ the chief message of the Old Testament?

There could be whole books written on this but let me give you three helpful categories:

Prophecies

Types

And a third category where the best I can say it is Law, Judgment, and Grace.

Prophecy

Prophecy is pretty straight forward because their are a plethora of prophecies that find their fulfillment in Christ.

Genesis 3:15 I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her offspring; he shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise his heel.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed.

The list could go on.

Types

Then you have types.

Think here of shadow and fulfillment.

Or Jesus is the True and Better…X

He’s a greater Moses that leads us in the greater Exodus from our slavery to sin.

The Greater David that conquers the greater Goliath, Satan, and rules as the Greater King.

The Greater Solomon who brings true peace and rest under His reign.

And its not just people.

He’s the true and better Temple where we draw near to God and worship Him.

The True and Better Sacrifice, High Priest, Jonah.

Now you can’t just point to everything and say that Jesus…you need good hermeneutics but Christ and His work is all over the Old Testament.

Law, Judgment, and Grace

And finally, you have Law Judgment and Grace.

Any time you see God being gracious that should point you to the fullness of God’s grace in Christ.

This would include all the good promises God gives to His people remembering 2 Corinthians 1:20 says all the promises of God find their Yes in Him.

His judgment of sin shows us what our sin deserves and drives us to run to Christ for refuge.

And one of the uses of the Law was to show us our sin.

To be our tutor until Christ came to show us how sinful we really are and how we cannot save ourselves in order that Galatians 3:24, we might be justified by faith.

One of the uses of the Law was to condemn us in our sin so that we might find life through faith in Christ.

So when you read the Bible, read it Christologically.

Its hard work. But God gave us the Old Testament to show us the glory of Christ.

To make us wise for salvation and lead us to eternal life (2 Tim. 3:15).

That’s what Jesus says.

You search the Scriptures because you think that in them you have eternal life; and it is they that bear witness about me, yet you refuse to come to me that you may have life.

We are going to look at this in more detail here in a second but for all their study, the Jews could not find eternal life.

They looked at the Law and saw a check-list of self-righteousness where they could earn the grace of God, and in their self-righteousness they refused to come to Christ.

That is a willful resistance.

They did not find the eternal life they were looking for because relied on self-righteousness from the Law instead of relying on God’s gift of righteousness that only comes through faith in Jesus Christ.

That is the witness God gives in Scripture.

We are sinners, and the only thing that can save us is God’s grace.

And that grace is only found in Jesus Christ because He is the hope of eternal life.

Scripture, and all Scripture, all points to Him.

Our fourth and final witness. Number 4...

IV. The Faithful Witness of Moses in the Law: Jesus is the Complete and Perfect Fulfillment of the Law on Our Behalf

John 5:41-47 I do not receive glory from people. But I know that you do not have the love of God within you. I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not receive me. If another comes in his own name, you will receive him. How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

Do not think that I will accuse you to the Father. There is one who accuses you: Moses, on whom you have set your hope. For if you believed Moses, you would believe me; for he wrote of me. But if you do not believe his writings, how will you believe my words?

Torah

Now when Jesus talks about Moses He could be referring to one of two things, and its impossible to really separate the two.

One the one hand, the first five books of the Old Testament are called the books of Moses. They are also known as the books of the Law.

We usually think of the Law as just commands, but for the Jew, Genesis-Deuteronomy all constituted the Law.

And obviously, Moses wrote of Christ in the first five books of the Old Testament.

We saw that when we saw how to read the Bible Christologically.

He’s the Passover Lamb from Exodus.

The True and Better Fulfillment of the High Priest and Sacrificial system.

In John 3, Jesus even used the Bronze serpent from the book of Numbers to say And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him might have eternal life (John 3:14-15).

Law

But in the book of John, Moses is usually associated with not just the first five books of the Bible but what we usually think of as the the Law - the commands of God that teach us sin and righteousness.

John 7:19 Has not Moses given you the law? Yet none of you keeps the law.

And that is the sense I think Jesus primarily has in mind here (John 1:16-17, 7:19).

He says There is one who accuses you: Moses on whom you have set your hope.

This is where Jesus puts the nail in the coffin.

He turns the tables on His accusers, and instead of being the one on trial puts the Jews on trial.

They had set their hope on Moses.

Instead of setting all of their hope on God and the gift of righteousness that only comes through faith in Christ, they trusted in their own self-righteousness and relied on the Law to justify them and make them righteous before God.

That’s why Jesus said If you believed Moses you would believe me; for he wrote of me.

You rely on the Law, but the Law should have always pointed you to me.

Moses wrote about me in the Law to show that you cannot save yourselves.

Your only hope is God’s grace.

In this way, Moses is not just another witness corroborating Jesus’ testimony that he is the Son of God.

He’s the prosecuting attorney that shows the Jews they totally missed it.

That if they had truly believed Moses, they would have believed in Christ.

Instead of looking at the Law and seeing a ladder they could use to climb their way to God, they should have seen their own sinfulness and need for Christ so that in seeing their sin, they would see their need for Him.

That they could never obey or keep the Law enough to save themselves no matter how hard they tried.

They needed Christ. They need His righteousness. Not their self-righteousness.

That’s what I think verse 44 is all about.

How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?

The Pharisees loved the praise of men more than the praise of God.

Let me give you two passages to help try to explain what Jesus is saying here, and then let me summarize it for you.

In Matthew 23:1-7 Jesus said The scribes and the Pharisees sit on Moses’ seat…they do all their deeds to be seen by others. For they make their phylacteries broad and their fringes long, and they love the place of honor at feasts and the best seats in the synagogues and greetings in the marketplaces and being called rabbi by others.

But, Romans 2:29, a Jew is one inwardly, and circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. His praise is not from man but from God.

The Pharisees loved the praise of men. They loved men looking at them with reverence and awe, and saying, Look how righteous. Look how holy.”

When Jesus says they should have looked for true righteousness before the Law. God’s grace in Christ.

That through faith in Him, God says we are Justified. That we are truly righteous before Him because God clothes us with the perfect righteousness of Christ.

Their self-righteousness and reliance on the Law blinded them to the gospel.

That’s why verse 40 says they refused to come to Christ.

They thought eternal life was in keeping the Law, when true eternal life is only through faith in Christ.

John 4:14 Whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.

That what Jesus says if you do not believe his writings, if you do not believe that the Law can never justify you, how will you ever believe my words?

If they don’t believe the words of Moses that condemn them, how could they ever believe in the word of Christ that gives them life?

Now that might be all way up here for you, so let me try to bring it down to earth.

The basic idea Jesus is getting at here, we’ve already seen in John 1:16-17.

John 1:16-17 For from his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Grace upon Grace.

In every way Christ is the fulfillment of the Law on our behalf.

He fulfilled all the righteous requirements of the Law offering to God the life of perfect obedience we failed to live.

And He suffered the penalty under the Law our sin deserved in His death on the cross.

There is no condemnation for those in Christ, because it is finished in Him (Romans 8:30, John 19:30).

Christ is the fullness of grace required and made necessary by the Law.

Romans 10:4 He is the end of the Law for righteousness to everyone who believes.

That’s the good news of the Gospel.

We are forgiven, justified, declared righteous in Him.

Not by our works or our self-righteousness before the Law, but by God’s amazing grace in Christ.

Conclusion

Jesus is the Son of God, the Savior of the World.

That’s the big idea from this passage.

The question is, what are you going to do with all the evidence.

The Truth of a matter is established on the evidence of 2 or 3 witnesses, and Christ, here, has given us four trustworthy witnesses that prove He is the Son of God.

John the Baptist, Jesus’ Works, God through Scripture, and Moses in the Law all bear witness that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and eternal life is only found in Him.

For the Non-Christian, this calls you to believe.

Jesus said, I say these things so that you may be saved.

And you might say, Well I care nothing about those witnesses. They don’t mean anything to me. They are just Jesus’ words.

But we have more sure testimony because God declared Him to be the Son of God in power when He raised Him from the dead (Rom. 1:4).

The verdict is in. Will you believe in Jesus Christ and be saved or hold on to your self-righteousness thinking you are good enough.

You might not rely on the Law, but refusing to come to Christ only says I have enough righteousness of my own, I don’t need His.

But God will not accept anything less than the perfect righteousness of Christ.

Your righteousness, whatever it is, is not enough.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

That is God’s Message for you today. Do not perish in your sins…flee to Christ.

Christian

And for the Christian, every day we should strive to make the testimonies of these Four Faithful Witnesses our testimony and savor the truths found in them.

He is the Son of God who takes away the sin of the World and removes them as far from us as east is from the west (Psalm 103:12).

He is The Savior, Redeemer, Mediator of the New Covenant where God promises to forgive our sins and remember them no more.

He is the hope of eternal life, and the complete and perfect fulfillment of the Law.

These are truths to build your life upon.

To not just believe in Christ, but cling to Him. Hold Fast to Him.

Live for Him and for His glory.

If this testimony if is our testimony it changes the whole whole course and direction of your life.

If Christ is the Son of God, He is our Savior and Lord, worthy of all of our worship, and most of all worthy of all of our life.
