I. Introduction

A. More than ever before we need the faithful to be full of Faith.
i) Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him.””
ii) We have been commanded to live by Faith
iii) Ephesians 2:8-9Iii) We have been saved by grace through Faith Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” In order that we may live by grace through Faith
B. More than ever we should look to the example of those who have gone before us who Had a Rock Solid Faith.
C. As we enter our Study today looking into the Foundatios of our Faith We are going to see what faith is how to have it and what to do with it when you have it.

II. The Clear picture of our Faith

A. Faith is not blind optimism
B. Faith is not blind superstition
C. Faith is not intellectual asscent
I) I talked with a man one day who at the time had not attended church in over two years. He cited be afraid of covid as the reason that they had not been back to church. The man began to grill me on Bible facts: How many books in the Bible, How Many Books Old Testament How Many New Testament, Divisions of the Bible How Many verses how many chapters, ect… This man was full of Bible Knowledge but empty of faith. Dont you realize that you are going to die. you may say pastor that’s fatalism no it’s not fatalism it is fact Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,” That fact becomes faith when you can say as Paul did in Philippians 1:21 “For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain.” The worst that we can do is die and go to Heaven.
ii) Faith is not trusting the word of God because you know what it says, Faith is trusting the word of God because you Know who said it.
iii) Intellect without Faith is like building an airplane without an engine and expecting it to fly.
D. Faith is clinging to the word of God despite all circumstances.
i) We are to feel as safe on a battle field as we do in bed.

III. The Clear Pattern of our Faith

A. Faith exemplified
I) Hebrews 11:33-38 “who through faith subdued kingdoms, worked righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouths of lions, quenched the violence of fire, escaped the edge of the sword, out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle, turned to flight the armies of the aliens. Women received their dead raised to life again. Others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection. Still others had trial of mockings and scourgings, yes, and of chains and imprisonment. They were stoned, they were sawn in two, were tempted, were slain with the sword. They wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented—of whom the world was not worthy. They wandered in deserts and mountains, in dens and caves of the earth.”
