Genesis 50:17-20 ‘Thus you shall say to Joseph, “Please forgive, I beg you, the transgression of your brothers and their sin, for they did you wrong.” ’ And now, please forgive the transgression of the servants of the God of your father.” And Joseph wept when they spoke to him. 18 Then his brothers also came and fell down before him and said, “Behold, we are your servants.” 19 But Joseph said to them, “Do not be afraid, for am I in God’s place? 20 “As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good in order to bring about this present result, to preserve many people alive.

The Torah, the first 5 books of the Bible, is a collection of stories that give us the history of God and the Children of Israel,
Abraham is chosen from his siblings to be the father of our faith (Father was an idol maker story) God moved on him at a young age
Ishmael was first, but Issac was chosen
Jacob had to wrestle with his identity before he could be called Israel (you must come to grips with the fact that your life is not your own)
it is through we are introduced to the children of Israel and something interesting happens out of all of the nations of the world at this time God specifically choose the children of Israel as his people and gives them a leader by the name of Moses who then communicates to them the law (somebody say the law) a set of rules that they must follow instructed by God. There was only one reason they had to abide by these laws, and that was to stay under the auspices of Yahweh because as long as they followed his commandments he would be there God. And I know we have a generation that is doing everything they can to be in Church while at the same time not miss out on what’s going on in the “culture” but let’s be honest there are some things you gon have to watch from a distance now so you don’t have to watch heaven from a distance later…tell somebody fast forward, honey. If you wondering why you can’t do everything everyone else is doing is summed up in Deutoronomy 14:2
“For you are a holy people to the Lord your God, and the Lord has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.
tell somebody “your life is not your own” but this is not to make you feel legalized but to make you feel liberated in the fact that your life is in the hands of the God that knows his plans for you therefore he knows how to lead and guide you into all truths, that means your true identity, your true calling, and your true worth, because I want to know how life has been with you in the driver seat? Tell somebody “think about it”. I think I’ll place my next decision in the hands of God. And with this comes a submission to the ultimate will of God that leads you into self-denial as stated in Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
I wish I could do what I want and live how I want to live but the problem is there are individuals connected to my submission to God than I can account for. And when I realize there are others in the car I drive a little bit safer. Tell somebody “they’re counting on you” and you can’t be so caught up in your wants that you ignore his will. Submit and Live. And I know you think I’m talking about tattoos and clothes but write this down, Holiness is not a look, but is a mindset that effects your appearance. I don’t mind tattoos as long as you can explain why, I don’t mind your fashion as long as your motives are clear of why you need to show all of that… tell somebody it’s a mindset.
You have been set apart for a reason and the enemy wants to use your need for acceptance as a way to get you to miss out on your call to blaze a trail Because you can never influence what you’re influenced by; this is why he says COME OUT FROM AMONGST THEM because Moses you have to go back and get the Children, Abraham you can’t stay in your old ways, Jacob you can’t stay the same and I’m telling you it is time to come out what you’re in so you can go back and bring some people out with you.
And this is where our text joins us, because sometimes God will cause a separation in your family just so you can go back and break some curses but you’re to frustrated right now because you’re in the middle of it, here is Joseph being the center of the drama when God is setting him up to be the deliverer, I know someone prophesied to you that you are your family’s breakthrough but your family doesn’t know so don’t go back home and all of a sudden you on a whole new level and ain’t nobody else got a relationship with, humble yourself and just get to where God has for you and let them come to you. Joseph has two dreams of his family kneeling before him but his excitement blurred his empathy because everybody is not excited about your elevation. And because of this he is thrown into
A Pit: Test your patience in isolation
Potiohar’s palace: Test your conviction over your flesh
Prison: Tests your
if you can survive these you get to the palace but then comes the last test and thats submitting the purpose of your trials.
famine comes and in comes your trauma….
how will you handle feeding those of meant evil against you…
The pain was necessary
I didn’t see it then, but it’s all about to make sense..
