2 Corinthians 1:3–4 (NKJV)
3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,
4 who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
Family, we have called you, talked to you, try to be there for you. We do this trying to help comfort you during difficult time.
And it may help some. But nothing is greater then Gods comfort. VS 3 “the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,”
VS 4 “who comforts us in all our tribulation”
People who are not Christians can understand.
When you need and comfort call on the Lord.
Psalm 121:1–2 NKJV
1 I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
Isaiah 41:10 NKJV
10 Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’
John 14:1–6 NKJV
1 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Elab the last time I saw Harry.
VS 1
Troubled: Worried, concerned.
Death bring a troubled time. But for a believer in Jesus, there is no trouble, no worries.
IF you believe in God, believe also in me.
John 3:16 (NKJV)
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Elab on believe.
James 2:19 (NKJV)
19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!
You have to act out on what you believe in.
Blood pressure meds
John 14:2 NKJV
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Mansions. Dwelling places. Many.
There is enough room in heaven for everybody, “Many mansions” but most will not be there.
Matthew 7:22–23 NKJV
22 Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ 23 And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’
John 14:3 (NKJV)
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.
Prepare. Since He has a place prepared, you might as well go.
“ I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.”
One day Jesus is going to come back.
But, you may die before He comes back.
“that where I am, there you may be also.”
Jesus wants you to be with Him. He has paid for the way, and He has prepared the way.
1 Timothy 2:3–4 NKJV
3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Saved? Saved from sin, saved from Hell.
John 14:5 NKJV
5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”
John 14:6 NKJV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
Jesus said:
I am the way. There are not many ways.
Baptism is not the way.
Being good is not the way.
Church membership is not the way.
Jesus is the way, because Jesus said He is the way, and Jesus is the truth.
I am the truth.
I am the way.
I am the life.
