INTRODUCTION
Good evening!
There has been a murder. (Murder an unlawful, premeditated killing of one human being by another.) There was an innocent man killed by crucifixion. And after 3 days this man came back to life.
Seems kind of unbelievable doesn’t it. As Christians our union with God as well as our salvation depends on the death and resurrection of this innocent man. But I have never seen a man come back from the dead. And all logic says that when you’re dead your dead.
My goal this evening is to help us individually be able to defend as well as live out our faith, in the truth of the Bible.
What Do We Know About Truth
What Do We Know About Truth
SLIDE – Truth is FACT. It does not change because of your faith or your belief.
If I asked you does God exist. What would you say? I have heard, me and others say “I have faith the Bible is true” But a faith or belief in something does not make it true. Muslims have a faith or belief in the Quran does that make it true. Of course not.
SLIDE – You can have contrary beliefs, but you can NOT have contrary truths. I can say “I believe this is an ice cream cone”, and you can say its water bottle, but the truth doesn’t change because of our belief. It’s a microphone.
SLIDE - Truth is discovered not invented. I’ve heard that Isaac Newton invented gravity. No…..God created gravity and Isaac Newton discovered gravity. Truth is discovered not invented and because truth is discovered and not invented we are responsible for seeking that truth out.
Going back to the beginning here. There was a murder and after the death of this innocent man he came back to life. Is it true?
