Isaiah 53
Isaiah 53
Last week we say in chapter 11 of Isaiah the coming Messiah foretold. Here there is yet another occurrence of Jesus being foretold about. You may have thought while reading this chapter that it seems to be a familiar story, that is because it is. Isaiah 53 tells us about the life of Jesus long before he came. We can see clearly now that this chapter is the perfect reflection of his life.
I know that I used to think that the prophecies that pointed towards Jesus were some things that were difficult to notice and that it was all small things like we sometimes see. Here it is plain for all to see. I saw a video a while back of a man going to Jewish people in Israel and reading this chapter and asking them who it sounds like he was describing, he did this without telling them it was from the Old Testament. Every person in the video said that it was describing Jesus. What a powerful thought. The people that deny that Jesus was the Messiah claim that this passage of scripture that prophecies the coming messiah describes Jesus.
Jesus was the one that had been foretold and he is the one that came for one reason and one reason alone, to pay the price for our sins.
