Today I want to talk about not what we consider the big miraculous miracles, but the small things. Sometimes we can learn more and see God for who he is through the little things. Is the little things that sometimes matter the most.
Why? because they occur in the moment in the present the here and now. It is the small things that break the camels back. It is the small things that will add up and cause stress. Its the small things that prove our faith and reveals to us the love of God.

Petition

Luke 11:5–13 NIV
Then Jesus said to them, “Suppose you have a friend, and you go to him at midnight and say, ‘Friend, lend me three loaves of bread; a friend of mine on a journey has come to me, and I have no food to offer him.’ And suppose the one inside answers, ‘Don’t bother me. The door is already locked, and my children and I are in bed. I can’t get up and give you anything.’ I tell you, even though he will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need. “So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened. “Which of you fathers, if your son asks for a fish, will give him a snake instead? Or if he asks for an egg, will give him a scorpion? If you then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give the Holy Spirit to those who ask him!”
Jesus tells us God wants us to petition him in prayer. It is not a inconvenience to God for us to ask him to answer our prayers Just as a parent wants what is best for their child and will not ignore their pleas for help so to our Father in Haven will hear our cries for help.
We are supposed to petition the father in fact he loves it when we do.

Unburden

1 Peter 5:6–7 NIV
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.
Psalm 55:22 NIV
Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.
Leave Your Prayer List
The sexton of a metropolitan church noticed scraps of paper in a certain pew in the sanctuary after each Sunday service. One day he made bold to examine the crumpled pieces of paper. He found such notes as: “Mary—ill; Bob, needs job; her rent due; my needs …” After a few weeks of this, the faithful custodian shared the mystery with the pastor, who alerted several members who sat in the area where messages were found to please identify, if possible, the person who was leaving tidbits of information each Sunday. The quiet plan succeeded. In due time, the minister adroitly engaged the lady in conversation in his study conversation in his study about the intriguing practice of leaving notes addressed to various people in her pew.
Smiling, the gentle lady declared that the bits of paper had deep meaning for her. “You will think it silly, but sometime ago I read, ‘Take your troubles to church with you.’ So I write down my concerns, burdens, and needs on little pieces of paper, take them to church, pray about them, and leave them there. I feel God is taking care of them!”
Once we give our prayer burden to Christ let go and leave it. This is difficult for many including myself, We want to be in control we want to direct our life, but like the song “Jesus Take the Wheel” it is easier said then done and once we do give him the wheel we want to take it back and when we do we wind up in a bigger mess. Sometimes it takes desperation. Sometimes we feel the need to punish ourselves for our mistakes and don’t want to allow God to rescue us. We did this to ourselves and deserve what we get. When our father wants to pickup the broken pieces and say I’ve got this and restore us to glory.

Thankfulness

Philippians 4:6 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Once we petition and unburden then we should be thankful and praise God for the answer to come.
We may not see it yet but the answer is on the way and in faith believing we praise him.

Peace of Mind

Philippians 4:6–7 NIV
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
When we present our needs to God and turn over over burdens with thanksgiving we receive peace of mind. The cares of the world pass away. Fear must flee and anxiety is removed. We can rest in the peace of God in mind body and soul and we will be renewed.

Testify

The woman at the well brought others to Christ through her testimony
John 4:39–42 NIV
Many of the Samaritans from that town believed in him because of the woman’s testimony, “He told me everything I ever did.” So when the Samaritans came to him, they urged him to stay with them, and he stayed two days. And because of his words many more became believers. They said to the woman, “We no longer believe just because of what you said; now we have heard for ourselves, and we know that this man really is the Savior of the world.”
We testify to edify God but also our testimony will lead others to believe and accept Christ. One of the lies the devil that keeps us chained up is that your the only one going through this, Your alone and no one can help you. Listen to me that is absolutely from the depths of hell not true and is meant to keep you in bondage and darkness. We overcome through our testimony. We take back the captives through our testimony. We uplift and bring healing through our testimony. It’s not about us it’s about what we have become because of christ and sharing that with others so they can know him as we know him. That person listening to you might be going through the very thing you were delivered from and your testimony leads them into faith in Christ because they think “ That person knows what i’m going through and God delivered them he can deliver me”.
Small Prayers matter
Here lately in the last couple years. I ask for prayer when I need help with just a small task and time and time again it is answered.
A couple of times recently it really has amazed me that God has answered requests for small items.
I work with a rescue and sometimes foster cats that are up for adoption. This particular occasion one of the foster was being adopted and I needed to turn over some paper work to the person adopting her. I had laid it out so I could easily find it. but somehow it became lost and I went through a stack of paper I had twice and could not find it. I closed my eyes and prayed dear Jesus please let me find this paperwork. I kid you not the very next piece of paper I touched was the one I needed and I had been through that exact stack of papers more than once.
This past week my nephew came over to mow my lawn and the mower did not want to start after he put gas in it. Our assumption was somehow water had gotten in the gas. He tried mowing and after several minutes it kept stopping every couple of minutes on him. Checked the fuel filter, pumpm and spark plug all good. I stopped and prayed and asked Jesus for help. He started to weed eat. I started the mower and took it slow and it kept running after that. Praise the Lord.
At this time instead of doing an alter call I would like to open up for more testimonies of what God has done for you. Let’s testify about our savior Jesus Christ anyone?
