So my friend Sam goes to see his supervisor in the front office.
"Boss," he says, “We're doing some heavy house-cleaning at home tomorrow, & my wife needs me to help with the attic & the garage, moving & hauling stuff.”
“We're short-handed, Gardner,” the boss replies. “You know I can't give you the day off.”
“Thanks boss,” says Jim, “I knew I could count on you!”
—There are ways to handle difficult situations, But there are difficult situations that must to be handled!—

PURGE OUT the evil and then the evil person if the evil wont be forsaken

v7 says cleanse, v 13 says purge
David Prior states in his commentary, “For all their so-called knowledge, the Christians at Corinth had lost sight of the centrality of Jesus Christ, the controlling power of the Holy Spirit and the transforming experience of having been called and saved by God. They had come to boast in their broad mindedness, in their chosen gurus and in their independence of the apostle himself. So Paul takes them right back to the fundamentals, to basic convictions... ”

1st Letter Clarified

clarifying what Paul meant when he wrote the previous letter. In 5:9, Paul mentions that he has previously written to the Corinthians. That letter apparently dealt with separating from sinners. He needs to explain further; he tells them that he meant separation in the church only. That is, he was referring to separating from a church member who was unrepentantly sinning. The responsibility is to separate from disobedient brothers, not from people in the world. 5:9–10 When Paul he previously wrote to the Corinthians, he addressed not associating with immoral people. He explains this meant a brother in the church who is clearly and publicly sinning. Separate from such a brother.

Sin inside the Church is More dangerous than sin outside the Church

The world operates in sin and fleshly desires

We have the power of God, we can answer the problems the world faces when we live according to Gods Word. The world doesnt believe we can help them with their problems because we have become so tolerant of sin inside the church, but we who are in Christ HAVE THE POWER AND THE ANSWERS…ITS JESUS CHRIST THE REDEEMER THE SAVIOR. How many of you have the testimony that your marriage was over, that your children were all but lost that you were just done and then He came in!!!!and changed everything....not fixed every little problem but gave you peace and power to live for Him by Him and through Him
Ephesians 2:1–3 LEB
And you, although you were dead in your trespasses and sins, in which you formerly walked according to the course of this world, according to the ruler of the authority of the air, the spirit now working in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all formerly lived in the desires of our flesh, doing the will of the flesh and of the mind, and we were children of wrath by nature, as also the rest of them were.
2 thess 3:6 “But we command you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you keep away from every brother who lives irresponsibly and not according to the tradition that they received from us.”
Here Paul lists 5 areas of behavior,in ch6 he lists these and some others as well but these 5 are not only timelessly relevant but also to some because of social standards get treated as less sinful.

Sexual Immorality

This is obvious, the church should have the purity of Christ when it comes to sex. Hebrews, keep the marriage bed undefiled…the church is under the powerful obligation to be utmost distinct in sexual behavior in a world where “sexual freedom” prevails, and what is meant by freedom is that anything goes…pedophilia is on the rise…minor attracted persons

Greed

“pleonexia” it has the connotation of grasping more and more being totally unsatisfied with what we already have. you ask a 3rd world church what the western churches main issue is and they will say they have too much. Martin Luther set an example with this. he had a man who he was going to excommunicate because he was going to sell a house he bought for 30 gold coins for 400 gold coins and Luther suggested 150 was the reasonable price because the rest was just exorbitant

Idolater

we have trouble sometimes identifying this one, Rene Padilla states that consumer society is the idol of today. for example, the irreparable sacking of nature for increased production, blind faith in technology, fashion, private property being seen as an inalienable right.....

Reviler

one who abuses others, and then uses Jesus words to condemn others. This has a particular meaning of reviling those in leadership, which is just as prevalant and blatant today in the church as in the world. Check out the news, how many of you would say somethjing like this” when I was a kid we never would have gotten away with that”
disrespect for those who have been entrusted with oversight in Gods church

Drunkard

There is a pendulum here, one way the world operates is drunkeness anytime we have an event or gathering etc etc…and when it swings the other way its a complete abstinence because its soooo bad and im not saying lets find the middle ground the Bible clearly defines it. drunkeness is really handing yourself and your faculties over to a force other than the Holy Spirit.

Swindler

if someone really wants soething not much will hinder them from getting it, here this person is always weaseling
Extortioner, robber, ravenous..he will steal the shirt off your back but pretend to be nice....Mat 7:15 ““Beware of false prophets who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inside are ravenous wolves.”

Purge the Evil person from you

Duet 13:5, 17:7, 12, 19:19, 21:21, 22:21-22, 24, 24:7
