THE EFFECTIVE PRAY-ER WILL ACCOMPLISH MUCH!
John 5:16 And pray for one another so that you may be healed! The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much!
There is a difference between Praying to God and Crying Out to God in Prayer!
Crying out to God is an act of desperation and total concentration upon God!
Crying out to God is an expression of faith in God and trust in His goodness and power to act on our behalf!
How does a person add crying out to their prayer life?
I. We must SEE it in the WORD!
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture Is . . . Profitable for teaching—correction—reproof—training, so that we can be equipped for good work!
Psalm 50:15 Call upon Me in the day of trouble, I shall rescue you and you will honor Me!
What does the word “call upon” Me mean?
James 5:16 Pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer . . . can accomplish much!
What should we do AFTER we SEE it in the WORD?
II. We must EMBRACE it in our SOUL!
There are different sounds that will come out of our mouth when we have embraced crying out in our soul!
A. A cry of deep DISTRESS!
Nehemiah 9:9 You SAW the affliction of our fathers in Egypt, and heard their CRY by the Red Sea!
What does the word for cry mean in this verse?
There is another Hebrew word that we need to explore and it means:
B. To cry out for HELP!
Exodus 15:25 Then Moses cried out to the Lord and He showed him a tree . . . and the waters became sweet!
What does the word for “cried out” mean in this verse?
There is another Hebrew word and it means:
C. To CALL with a loud SOUND!
1 Chronicles 4:10 Jabez called on the God of Israel . . . and God granted him what he requested!
What does the word for “called” on the God of Israel mean in this verse?
There is another Hebrew word and it means:
D. To SHOUT with a WAR cry!
2 Chronicles 13:15 Then the men of Judah gave a shout!
What does the word for “shout” mean in this verse?
There is another Greek word and it means:
What should we do when we Embrace it in our Soul?
III. We must UTILIZE it in our LIFE!
Galatians 4:6 Because you are sons, God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba! Father!”
When we are born again, the Presence of the Holy Spirit inside of us prompts us to shout, to cry out, Abba! Father!
What are some of the benefits we can experience by shouting, crying out Abba! Father?
Sometimes shouting Abba! Father can bring:
A. FREEDOM from emotional BONDAGE!
Psalm 18:6 In my distress, I CALLED upon the Lord and CRIED to my God for help! He heard my VOICE out of His Temple, and my CRY for help before Him, came into His ears!
David was a man after God’s own heart, and he utilized crying out as much as anyone in Bible History!
David uses the word kaw-raw for CALLED and he uses the word shaw-va for CRIED, and he uses the word kol-e for voice!
This is one of the verses God used to show me that He responds differently to His children when we passionately cry out in desperation than when we don’t cry out to Him!
That is one reason James said, Is anyone among you suffering, the he must pray!
Sometimes crying out can bring Freedom from emotional Bondage, and Sometimes shouting Abba! Father! can bring:
B. HEALING from a dread DISEASE!
Psalm 3:4 I was CRYING to the Lord with my VOICE, and He answered me from His holy mountain!
Psalm 30:2 O Lord My God, I CRIED to You for help, and You HEALED me!
In Psalm 3:4, David cried out (shaw-vad), with his voice (kol-e), and His Lord answered him from heaven!
Do you see it in His Word? Will you embrace it in your soul?
When you see it in God’s word and embrace it in your soul, the Presence of God who dwells in you, cries out Abba! Father!
and it manifests in crying out loud with your voice for Him to Heal you of the dread Disease that has invaded your body!
That’s why James asked, Is anyone among you SICK? Call for the elders of the church and they are to PRAY over you, anointing you with oil in the name of the Lord!
And the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick!
Psalm 30:2 O Jehovah, my Elohim, I cried with a high-pitched voice to You for help and You RAPH-ED, You healed, my grandson and today we call him Jadon because You heard, and You answered our CRY in our time of distress!
Sometimes our shouting Abba, Father can bring Freedom from emotional Bondage and Healing from a dread Disease, but it can also bring:
C. DIRECTION in a season of PERPLEXItY!
Jeremiah 33:3 CALL to Me, and I will answer you, and tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know!
God says in His word, through the prophet Jeremiah that we should CALL (shaw-vah)), to Him, to cry out loud to Him with our voice and He will show us great and might things, which we do not know!
In closing, I want to show you two examples of crying out in the New Testament.
Mark 6:48 Seeing them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them, at about the fourth watch of the night, He came to them, walking on the sea!
And He intended to pass by them!
Mark 6:49 But then they saw Him walking on the sea, they supposed that it was a ghost, and CRIED OUT!
Mark 6:51 Then He got into the boat with them, and the wind stopped, and they were utterly astonished!
Matthew 20:30 And two blind men sitting by the road, hearing that Jesus was passing by, CRIED OUT . . .
The crowd sternly told them to be QUIET, but they CRIED OUT all the more, “Lord, Son of David, have mercy on us!”
Jesus STOPPED and called them, and said, “What do you want Me to do for you?”
These are two circumstances where Jesus intended to walk past people in need.
However, the passion in their voice and the confidence in His ability to change their circumstances, caused Him to stop and meet their need!
Is there anybody within the sight of my face and sound of my voice, and you need to get God’s attention?
Are you willing to cry out loud with your voice with passion and faith?
The Effective, Passionate crying out loud of His sons and daughters will accomplish much!
Crying Out Loud to God is one method of becoming an Effective PRAY-ER!
Will you become one of our Most Valuable PRAY-ERS today?
We would love to place you on one of our four MVP teams!
