Matthew 18:21–19:1
21 Then Peter approaching asked him, “Lord, if my brother sins against me, how often must I forgive him? As many as seven times?” 22 Jesus answered, “I say to you, not seven times but seventy-seven times. 23 That is why the kingdom of heaven may be likened to a king who decided to settle accounts with his servants. 24 When he began the accounting, a debtor was brought before him who owed him a huge amount. 25 Since he had no way of paying it back, his master ordered him to be sold, along with his wife, his children, and all his property, in payment of the debt. 26 At that, the servant fell down, did him homage, and said, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back in full.’ 27 Moved with compassion the master of that servant let him go and forgave him the loan. 28 When that servant had left, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a much smaller amount. He seized him and started to choke him, demanding, ‘Pay back what you owe.’ 29 Falling to his knees, his fellow servant begged him, ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.’ 30 But he refused. Instead, he had him put in prison until he paid back the debt. 31 Now when his fellow servants saw what had happened, they were deeply disturbed, and went to their master and reported the whole affair. 32 His master summoned him and said to him, ‘You wicked servant! I forgave you your entire debt because you begged me to. 33 Should you not have had pity on your fellow servant, as I had pity on you?’ 34 Then in anger his master handed him over to the torturers until he should pay back the whole debt. 35 So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart.”

Announce the new law

After saying that not only the messiah must suffer, and wont restore his earthly kingdom, Jesus announce something mor shocking, not only he will no revenge the enemies of Israel, but he will forgive them and ask to followers to forgive.

1. The law of pardon.

In the old cultures the revenge was a virtue, a tooth for a tooth and e eye for and eye,
24 If Cain is avenged seven times,
then Lamech seventy-seven times.” Ge 4:24.
Jesus will introduce the new law of forgives, and to explained he address this parable, you must forgive because God have forgiven you more, that your small debit.
If you forgive others their transgressions, your heavenly Father will forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive others, neither will your Father forgive your transgressions. Mt 6:14–15.
According to the first explanation, which is Augustine’s, one is given to understand that we should pardon the whole, just as Christ pardoned all things. Bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if any have a complaint against another: even as the Lord has forgiven you, so do you also (Col 3:13)

The difference amount.

But there is as great difference between sins committed against men, and sins committed against God, as between ten thousand talents and a hundred denarii; yea rather there is still greater difference. This appears from the difference of the persons, and from the fewness of the offenders

But in the parable the this King rebuke his pardon.

Not that God will revoke a pardon once granted; for this would be contrary to his infinite mercy, and his works are without repentance. It means that God will not pardon, or rather that he will severely punish the ingratitude and inhumanity of the man, who, after having received from God the most liberal pardon of his grievous transgressions, refuses to forgive the slightest offence committed against him by his neighbour, who is a member, nay a son of his God.
So will my heavenly Father do to you, unless each of you forgives his brother from his heart.”
From your heart, means not only exterior but also interior, as in the sermon of the mountain Jesus show that we can committed a sin when we fully accept a bad though, he es asking to renounce to consent the anger in our hearts.

For our daily application.

The law of the Mercy

We are hard to forgive because we no recognize big is the debit that God has forgiven to me.
Christian lest meditate in the passion of Christ and see how Jesus suffer, and thing all he did, he did to forgive my sins.
God forgive the original sin, our fathers were debtors and we should have been sold as slaves, but God give his son as slave, to the slaves of sins, his sons forever.

Seven times, means all the days of the week

So all the days we have to give thanks to God for the sins that he forgive in the sacrament of baptisms, a renew this pardon all the days that you attended confession, and the church when you are truly repent never denied this pardon, because was commanded by Jesus.

From your heart.

To forgive do not mean, do not feel, we are humans and we cannot stop felling, but we can reject that felling.

Feel is not a sin, to consent is a sin.

Forgive from your hear means, reject that anger that felling and ask God to have mercy with him.
Blessed is the merciful, because they will find mercy.

The word cannot understand, only the true Christian, if Christ forgive why should I not forgive.

Forgive always from inside of your heart, and God will forgive you forever, with the suffering of his Sacred Heart.
