Good moring everyone,
I encourage to pray for the ones going through flooding throughout the world
Also let’s lift up the Church in pakistan where dozen of Church building have been burned, and unspeakable things done to countless believers
Today were going to deal with the questions people have about the Bible.
If you remember I asked people to email their questions to Questions@kingdomway.ca
not many responses so instead I’ll attempt to answer some of the top questions asked in google about the Bible
I found a list of over 90 of the most common questions people ask about the Bible on google.
Now don’t worry we won’t be dealing with all of them today.
Some take more explanation some take less
some questions the Bible answers for itself

1. What is the Bible?

Its a inspired collection of 66 books given to us by God so we can know and understand His plans
broken into 2 parts
the Old Testament anf the New testament
which is marked by the life of Jesus

2. What does the Bible say about pornography?

Matthew 5:28 NASB95
28 but I say to you that everyone who looks at a woman with lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
1 Corinthians 6:18–20 NASB95
18 Flee immorality. Every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but the immoral man sins against his own body. 19 Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? 20 For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.

3) Are there Contradictions in the Bible?

Atheist have long ascertaid there are many contradictions in the Bible
in fact if you good this question the top sites returned are all from atheist
The vast majority of perceived contradictions come from not understanding the difference Jesus made from the Old testament and the New testament
eg.
Exodus 20:8 NASB95
8 “Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
Romans 14:5 NASB95
5 One person regards one day above another, another regards every day alike. Each person must be fully convinced in his own mind.
they say this is a contradiction
its not a contradtiction but rather a change from the Age of the law to the age of Grace
another example
Ecclesiastes 1:4 NASB95
4 A generation goes and a generation comes, But the earth remains forever.
2 Peter 3:10 NASB95
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.
When something is burned part of it can still remain
Revelation 21:1–3 NASB95
1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth passed away, and there is no longer any sea. 2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride adorned for her husband. 3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne, saying, “Behold, the tabernacle of God is among men, and He will dwell among them, and they shall be His people, and God Himself will be among them,

4. How do I read the Bible?

There is not a definitive answer for this.
You have to find what benefits you the most during the season you in
The are a number of reading plans available:
some are based on topical reading
some are based one chronological order
The important thing is that you are daily reading the Bible
Also make notes on what you are reading.
keep a journal with your Bible
Journaling is a tool to help you record your thoughts and allows you a glimpse of How God is working in anf through your life

5. Why are there so many bad feelings about the Bible?

The devil hates the word of God as its believers primary weapon against him
as such satan does everything possible to keep people away from the Word of God.
He doesn’t want you reading it, because if you do his power over you is severly diminished

6. What does the Bible say about sex?

Actually quite alot
there are over 50 verses that talk about sexual relationships
Exodus 20:14 NASB95
14 “You shall not commit adultery.
Adultery is having sex with someone other than your husband or wife
Fornication is when people who aren’t married have sex
Matthew 15:19–20 NASB95
19 “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, slanders. 20 “These are the things which defile the man; but to eat with unwashed hands does not defile the man.”
Genesis 2:25 NASB95
25 And the man and his wife were both naked and were not ashamed.
Before the fall – before sin – sex was part of the created order. It was good – VERY GOOD – and was engaged in freely, without inhibition of any kind by the man and the woman.
sex was affected by the fall but it remains something to be celebrated and protected throughout the entire canon of Scripture.
Proverbs 5:18–19 NASB95
18 Let your fountain be blessed, And rejoice in the wife of your youth. 19 As a loving hind and a graceful doe, Let her breasts satisfy you at all times; Be exhilarated always with her love.
Sex between a husband and a wife is never a cause for shame.
It should be honoured, cherished and enjoyed as the gift and the good that it is; thanks be to God!
I thought that is not very popular in our culture today is revealed in 1 Cor
1 Corinthians 7:3–4 NASB95
3 The husband must fulfill his duty to his wife, and likewise also the wife to her husband. 4 The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does.
this is directly referring to sex
1 Corinthians 7:5 NASB95
5 Stop depriving one another, except by agreement for a time, so that you may devote yourselves to prayer, and come together again so that Satan will not tempt you because of your lack of self-control.
Genesis 1:27–28 NASB95
27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
Genesis 2:18 NASB95
18 Then the Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.”

Sex is restricted to the marriage bed

1 Corinthians 7:2 NASB95
2 But because of immoralities, each man is to have his own wife, and each woman is to have her own husband.
Sex outsde of marriage has little to do with love and everything to do with Lust

7. Is the Bible a fairy tale?

no its full of historical accuracies and stories that may require faith to beleive

8. Should we take the Bible literally or not?

Well that depends.
what part of the Bible are you referring to?
Yes parts of the Bible are intended to be taken literally.
But it also has allegory, poetry, and figures of speach that are not intended to be taken literally.
How many have you heard of the flat earth theory.
sad thing is some christians use parts of the Bible to fuel their beliefs that the earth is flat.
Isaiah 11:12 NASB95
12 And He will lift up a standard for the nations And assemble the banished ones of Israel, And will gather the dispersed of Judah From the four corners of the earth.
flatearthers will say see the earth has 4 corners.
That was never meant to be a literal statement, rather it was a figure of speech meaning from all over God would bring them together
Job 28:24 NASB95
24 “For He looks to the ends of the earth And sees everything under the heavens.
They assume God is viewing from one point so the earth must be flat.
forgetting God in omnipresent
Yes there are literal passaged, but also some poetic
Psalm 91:4 (NASB95)
4 He will cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you may seek refuge;
His faithfulness is a shield and bulwark.
Does this mean God has wings and feathers,
or would the average reader be able to understand the imagery being used here?
Song of Solomon 7:4 NASB95
4 “Your neck is like a tower of ivory, Your eyes like the pools in Heshbon By the gate of Bath-rabbim; Your nose is like the tower of Lebanon, Which faces toward Damascus.
I don’t think solomon is being literal here

9. Does the Bible talk about homosexuality?

Leviticus 18:22 NASB95
22 ‘You shall not lie with a male as one lies with a female; it is an abomination.
Leviticus 20:13 NASB95
13 ‘If there is a man who lies with a male as those who lie with a woman, both of them have committed a detestable act; they shall surely be put to death. Their bloodguiltiness is upon them.
Romans 1:26–28 NASB95
26 For this reason God gave them over to degrading passions; for their women exchanged the natural function for that which is unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men abandoned the natural function of the woman and burned in their desire toward one another, men with men committing indecent acts and receiving in their own persons the due penalty of their error. 28 And just as they did not see fit to acknowledge God any longer, God gave them over to a depraved mind, to do those things which are not proper,
Jude 7 NASB95
7 just as Sodom and Gomorrah and the cities around them, since they in the same way as these indulged in gross immorality and went after strange flesh, are exhibited as an example in undergoing the punishment of eternal fire.
1 Corinthians 6:9–10 NASB95
9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, 10 nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, will inherit the kingdom of God.
10. Why is the Bible so boring?
Its not, sure the geneologies of Genesis of may seem to boring
Genesis 5:8–16 NASB95
8 So all the days of Seth were nine hundred and twelve years, and he died. 9 Enosh lived ninety years, and became the father of Kenan. 10 Then Enosh lived eight hundred and fifteen years after he became the father of Kenan, and he had other sons and daughters. 11 So all the days of Enosh were nine hundred and five years, and he died. 12 Kenan lived seventy years, and became the father of Mahalalel. 13 Then Kenan lived eight hundred and forty years after he became the father of Mahalalel, and he had other sons and daughters. 14 So all the days of Kenan were nine hundred and ten years, and he died. 15 Mahalalel lived sixty-five years, and became the father of Jared. 16 Then Mahalalel lived eight hundred and thirty years after he became the father of Jared, and he had other sons and daughters.
The genealogies in the Bible provide important records of historical succession, continuity, and legitimacy, but these lineages also provide unique insights for our families.
I admit, when I was a you child i loved the stories Joshua and the walls of Jericho
or Moses and the burning bush
Jesus feeding the 5000
but as I learned more about the Bible i developed a new appreciation for everything in it.
The more you learn the more interesting it becomes

11. How old is the Earth according to the Bible?

Well to be honest we don’t really know
the Bible doesn’t directly tell us
by using the geneolgies in genesis we can calculate the earth is around 6000 years old
Genesis 1:1–2 NASB95
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was formless and void, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was moving over the surface of the waters.
We aren’t given a time frame for this
the method to calculate time didn’t arrive until verse 3
Genesis 1:3–5 NASB95
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light day, and the darkness He called night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day.
from this point foward the Bible gives us great detail of the time
Evolutionists need the time frame to be much longer for anyone to possible believe it to be true.
So they have systematically increased the age of the earth to now 4.6 billion years.
Hopes this aid those searching for answers.
I know there are many more, maybe one day we’ll take the time to
