Prayers that are heard
Prayers that are heard
‘I have heard your prayer’- .
King Hezekiah's life shows us that The Lord hears our prayers and does mighty things. King Hezekiah prayed thrice in his life and all three times his prayer was answered from heaven. Angels were sent. Miracles took place. Unexpected things happened for good. Those were turning points in the history of the world. The answers from heaven makes me to rejoice. It makes me to understand the importance and the power of prayer. It increases my expectation. It strengthens my knees. It makes us to turn our attention towards heaven.
‘I have heard your prayer’- .
The Interceding Prayer 2Chr 30.18-20
The Interceding Prayer 2Chr 30.18-20
Prayer: Hezekiah interceded for them.... pardon everyone.
Answer: And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people.
The prayer where we ask for 'pardon' is a pleasing prayer to God. Interceding for others. Jesus interceded for those people 'Father please forgive them' even when He was being nailed to the cross. Even today He intercedes for you and me in heaven and how powerful should that prayer be. As we struggle in the holds of sin, it is God who holds our hands and helps us stand firm. The Holy Spirit also intercedes for us. Today, what a pity that many of our prayers has turned to be blaming others, expressing hatred, jealousy towards others! For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been hurled down(), is that not the satan? If we are to blame others in our prayers, then we are wrongly standing on the side of the evil one. Shall we stop that immediately and follow the prayer of Jesus as an example? Shall we ask God to forgive them? What a great intercession prayer would that be? During the days of King Hezekiah, the Israelite's withdrew from God and were involved in many evil things. Due to that the Israelite's belonging to the 10 tribes were imprisoned and were taken as slaves. 2 tribes of Judah were also far
away from God. The temple of Jerusalem was closed which symbolized how far the people moved away from God. In we see that king Hezekiah opened the doors of the temple and cleaned it for many months. During his period the people began to look for God and turned their heart to Him. This brought a great change and was a turning point in Judah. It was a great news as the tribes of Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, Zebulun also joined in this. They did not follow the tradition but followed what was in the word of God. By that they found that they ate Passover not in the way God had told. There were many people who were not cleansed while eating the Passover. When we also follow the Word of God we can identify easily the things that are not pleasing to God. They identified. Now what next? Should they find fault with those people & push them outside? Or become victim to the anger of God? At this soupy situation it astonishes me on what king Hezekiah did. How suitable was it to plead for 'pardon' at this situation! Immediately God heard his prayer and healed the people. Any sinner can pray for pardon without getting weakened.

Prayer King Hezekiah and the prophet Isaiah son of Amos cried out in prayer to heaven about this.. Answer 'Because you have prayed to Me against Sennacherib king of Assyria, I have heard.'
In those days the kingdom of Assyria invaded many other kingdoms and conquered them. It was growing to be a super power kingdom. The 10 tribes of Israelite's since they walked away from God were seized and imprisoned. But the 2 tribes of Judah started looking unto God because of king Hezekiah's encouragement. There was a great revolution and at the same time king Assyria was advancing to seal Jerusalem and destroy it. At any moment the enemy can enter and cause destruction. At this dangerous moment we need to carefully examine how they prayed. They were receiving threatening messages from the enemy. King Hezekiah went to the temple with the letter from the enemy. He spread the threatening letters

In we see that God sent an angel; he wiped out all the fighting men and the commanders and officers in the camp of king Assyria. In one night 1,85,000 enemies were destroyed. Learn to appeal towards heaven during difficult days. Definitely you will get an answer from heaven. Victory is for sure, God will do a miracle.

The Weeping Prayer 2Kings 20:3-5
The Weeping Prayer 2Kings 20:3-5
Prayer:He requested God to remember him and Hezekiah wept bitterly.
Answer Before Isiah left the middle court, God answered his prayer and said, 'I have heard your prayer and seen your tears'.

King Hezekiah who made the whole nation to repent and turn their hearts to God and guided the people to walk in the paths of righteousness is now sick. He was at the point of death. At this moment not the doctors report alone said that he would die, but the word of God was also sent through Isaiah about his death. 'You are going to die' was the word. This passage encourages us, that even when we are very sick or even on death bed we can pray fervently. He wept bitterly and prayed. In the Holy Spirit has written for us the way he prayed. It is written like this: I cried like a swift or thrush, I moaned like a mourning dove. My eyes grew weak as I looked to the heavens. I am being threatened; Lord, come to my aid! In your love you kept me from the pit of destruction; you have put all my sins behind your back. Before Isaiah can leave the middle court, the word of the Lord came to him. This is what the Lord said, 'I have heard your prayer and seen your tears; Iwill heal you.' The word that he will die was turned to 'I will add 15 years to his life', what a powerful prayer!! In our life too during adverse situations lets pray like Hezekiah, when we back slide - to walk in holiness, during adversities - for deliverance, illness - miracle healing. Let's receive definite answers from heaven and be victorious.
