Life is hard. We struggle many times with navigating the ups and downs of it all. It’s easy to get stuck. When that happens, it’s easy for us to settle for where we are and stay there. But that is not the life Jesus came to give you. Somewhere deep in all of us is a longing for more - more life, more joy, more peace. What does that kind of life look like? How do you find it? Where do you begin? And what can you do about all the stuff that gets in the way? Fortunately for us, Jesus came to help us answer these very questions and so many more. He came to show us that when life hurts, He heals.
Matthew 5:5 “Blessed are the humble, for they will inherit the earth.”
What does the word Humble mean? Not proud and doesn’t believe they are better than others.
Shift that to “I can always get better”.
Ephesians 4:2 Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. (NLT)
If we want to become great, we need to first, be last.
Sometimes when we push ourselves to be last, the negative thought might come across that “Now I feel insignificant”.
That is the enemy telling you that. You are not insignificant!
What happens when I feel that way and how do I get out of the feeling of insignificance? Humble yourself and you serve your way out of it!
We are to be like Jesus! Mark 10:43-45 “But it is not so among you. On the contrary, whoever wants to become great among you will be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you will be a slave to all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Explain the How, Pastor Aaron
Have the discipline to humble yourself and begin to serve your way out of that insignificance, you begin to see what God is meaning by being a servant.
When you see it, you will believe it, and if you live it, it'll become a habit and you’ll become it!
Become what? Great!
Then you can use that to show others that it wasn’t your own works, it was God through you! Opening the door to conversation and telling someone else about Jesus.
I remember one of the quotes that stuck with me from the Navy Seal Ethos when I was in the military. “I will not seek recognition for my actions.” I try to apply that to my life daily.
Serve with a humble heart.
People are attracted to you before they are attracted to Jesus.
Because you are serving with a humble heart people will notice something different about you.
My prayer, God, let people see You through me.
Question to ask ourselves: As we go about our day, are we showing people that we are a Christian? Do your friends even know you are a Christian? If not, then tell them! Invite them here to here the Gospel, the Good News!
How will you inherit the earth? Once again, Jesus' meaning here is in connection to those who have faith in Him. If we belong to the Lord, and if the Lord becomes king of the earth, as the Messiah will, then all those who are His will inherit the earth with Him. "Being Humble" is not a requirement for becoming a true Christian, but being humble is something which naturally comes from having a saving knowledge of Jesus.
It should be said that true humility takes courage; we must fight with ourselves to trust God's plan and His character. It's hard to be humble and patient when we cannot fully understand how good will win in the end.
