James 1:2-4 12-16
2 Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4 And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
12 Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him. 13 No one is to say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God”; for God cannot be tempted by evil, and He Himself does not tempt anyone. 14 But each one is tempted when he is carried away and enticed by his own lust. 15 Then when lust has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it has run its course, brings forth death. 16 Do not be deceived, my beloved brothers and sisters.
Matthew 5:10–12 (NASB 2020)
10 “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11 “Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in this same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

How are trials so disruptive
How are trials so disruptive
Differ from normalcy and the Supernatural.
The Devil isn’t the blame for everything that happens. (Traffic Jam, Car Crash, lost keys, etc)
At times unexpected / Inconvenient
The cost (Matter/Issue/Trauma) that comes with the expenses
We abandoned the Holy Spirit or grieved HIM and reacted in the flesh when life challenges occur.
Test/Trial/Challenges by design are disruptive regardless of the magnitude
Can Challenges become Idols? How?
Can Challenges become Idols? How?
Giving them a priority over God:
Anxiety
Excessive worry
Excessive panic
Fear
***All of which can become idols***
How can I endure my challenges
How can I endure my challenges
You can’t (Without The Holy Spirit)
6 Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt you at the proper time, 7 having cast all your anxiety on Him, because He cares about you.
Know the warning signs (Origins)
Doubt God’s word
Embrace other realities as truth
Enticed by our own feelings. (Emotions or desires)
Engage those desires based on our emotions.
Know that all trials has an expiration date.
We are not limited by the span of time.
Know that God has the final word
Know the God is the Final Authority (Sovereignty)
Know that we are an offering before God and must remain right before HIM
1 Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect.
