2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord,
We multiply in peace and grace because of the knowledge of who God is
When we truly know God we’re not in fear for the future
When we truly understand who God is and his grace(Unmerited Favor on our lives)
Review:
The names of God
Elohim-embraces the idea of God, powerful, ruler
Yahweh gives us the specific name of who HE is
Yahweh-I am who I am
We covered the simple fact that
God exists
He has a name
He has a name to be personal to you
Today I want to further break down the significance of I AM Who I AM:
I don’t want to gloss over this topic
I want to solidify this idea in your head Who exactly God is
When we fully understand the vastness, the greatness, the holiness, the omnipotence, the majesty of who God is
No wonder it says that the rocks will cry out
Even something without a brain understands the greatness of God
Classes of being:
Levels or ranks of being
Think about a Rock
A plant
A tree
A bug
An animal
A dog
A human being
Among all of these are “beings” everything is subject to change
Contingent beings- the very nature of everything that exist in contingent upon something preceeding it
HOW ARE YOU?
I AM FINE
Contingent: Dependent on other conditions or circumstances; conditional
We are contingent beings at the very nature of our essence
We have potential
We have hope and a potential
There’s a supreme being:
The Aseity of God or God is the only thing that has the power of Being
God is a necessary Being
God exist within himself, independent of everything else
When God says that he is the I AM
He’s not saying he’s a work in progress
He doesn’t have potential
He IS
He is the only thing that exists that HAS THE POWER OF BEING
He’s the necessary BEING
1 Bless the Lord, O my soul!
O Lord my God, You are very great:
You are clothed with honor and majesty,
2 Who cover Yourself with light as with a garment,
Who stretch out the heavens like a curtain.
3 He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters,
Who makes the clouds His chariot,
Who walks on the wings of the wind,
4 Who makes His angels spirits,
His ministers a flame of fire.
5 You who laid the foundations of the earth,
So that it should not be moved forever,
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment;
The waters stood above the mountains.
7 At Your rebuke they fled;
At the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.
8 They went up over the mountains;
They went down into the valleys,
To the place which You founded for them.
9 You have set a boundary that they may not pass over,
That they may not return to cover the earth.
10 He sends the springs into the valleys;
They flow among the hills.
11 They give drink to every beast of the field;
The wild donkeys quench their thirst.
12 By them the birds of the heavens have their home;
They sing among the branches.
13 He waters the hills from His upper chambers;
The earth is satisfied with the fruit of Your works.
14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle,
And vegetation for the service of man,
That he may bring forth food from the earth,
15 And wine that makes glad the heart of man,
Oil to make his face shine,
And bread which strengthens man’s heart.
16 The trees of the Lord are full of sap,
The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 Where the birds make their nests;
The stork has her home in the fir trees.
18 The high hills are for the wild goats;
The cliffs are a refuge for the rock badgers.
19 He appointed the moon for seasons;
The sun knows its going down.
20 You make darkness, and it is night,
In which all the beasts of the forest creep about.
21 The young lions roar after their prey,
And seek their food from God.
22 When the sun rises, they gather together
And lie down in their dens.
23 Man goes out to his work
And to his labor until the evening.
24 O Lord, how manifold are Your works!
In wisdom You have made them all.
The earth is full of Your possessions—
The First law of thermodynamics states:
First law of thermodynamic states that Energy can neither be
created nor be destroyed but it can be converted from one
form to another
The very theory of evolution is predicated on creating energy from nothing
What set the big bang in motion?
If we’ve never seen one example of energy being created by itself then why are people banking their eternities on it?
If science says motion cannot be created or destroyed
What was before the “BIG BANG”
the only explanation of this is: well it took a long time
People say they don’t believe in a magical God in the sky
The real magic is basing science of disproven science lol
Aristotle explained this:
The unmoved mover
Aristotle seeks to show that the universe is a single causal system is through an examination of the notion of movement
Aristotle’s fundamental principle is that everything that is in motion is moved by something else
When A is in motion there must be some B that moves A, then if B is itself in motion there must be some C moving B, and so on.
This series cannot go on forever, and so it must come to a halt in some X that is a cause of motion but does not move itself—an unmoved mover.
6 yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through whom we live.
3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.
He made everything!!!!
14 I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well.
You were not a mistake!
From the foundations of the world he’s had a plan and a purpose for your existence
It’s not by accident that we’re here
None of this is Random
We are contingent beings
We have the choice to choose Him
Our future is contingent upon the recognition of Him in our lives
11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.
God has a potential for your life
An unchanging God gives you a hope to change YOU
29 For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren.
