THE CRUCIFIXION

Psalm 22:1 NKJV
My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me? Why are You so far from helping Me, And from the words of My groaning?
Matthew 27:45–46 NKJV
Now from the sixth hour until the ninth hour there was darkness over all the land. And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is, “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?”

Main Idea: God sent His son to die on the cross that we may be saved.

Key Question: Have you trusted Jesus for your salvation?

1. Jesus’ crucifixion was set from the beginning (22:1)

Psalm 22:1 NKJV

Psalm 22:17–18 NKJV
I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, And for My clothing they cast lots.

2. Jesus’ crucifixion is solemn. (27:45)

3. Jesus’ crucifixion is substitutionary. (27:46)
