Ephesians 3:16 “I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.”
Eph 3:16 tpt
16And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power.
THE ENGINE of a car lies under the hood. The engine “dwells” there. Even when the car is stopped, not moving, or sitting on the lot, dwelling underneath the hood is an invisible power source. What is the engine there designed to do? It is designed to take the car somewhere. Only a fool would bother to push a perfectly brand-new automobile up a hill. There is no point in pushing something that has the power to carry you! Why would a person put forth effort to push a car that has the power to deliver them to their destination? Because we understand that concept, we don’t push our cars; we sit inside our cars and let the cars transport us. When the Spirit of God indwells the believer, and that believer has set his mind on Christ, he has the power to drive.881 [Holy Spirit, Power of]
Rom. 8:11; Eph. 3:16
Opening : Here is a draft hook about Paul praying for the strengthening of believers through the Holy Spirit:
The apostle Paul had a deep longing for the believers in Ephesus. He knew that living the Christian life required great spiritual strength, so he bowed his knees and prayed to God for them. Paul asked that the Father would grant the Ephesians power through the Holy Spirit working in their inner being. He pleaded that Christ would dwell in their hearts through faith so they could understand the vast dimensions of God's love. Paul's passionate prayer reveals his care for fellow believers and his understanding that spiritual power comes from the indwelling Holy Spirit. When we recognize our need for strength from above to follow Christ, we can pray as Paul did - for power that comes through the Spirit within.
The apostle Paul great emphasis on the church been strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit let me give you a few other scriptures to really expound on this
Other passages with the same words: 1. "That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death," (Philippians 3:10, ESV) - uses the word "dunamis" for power. 2. "For the Spirit who God has given us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love, and self-discipline." (2 Timothy 1:7, NIV) - uses the phrase "dunamis" for power. 3. "For from him and through him and for him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen." (Romans 11:36, NIV) - uses the word "doxa" for glory. These are just a few examples of how the words in Ephesians 3:16 are used in other passages of the Bible. The word "power" (dunamis) is often associated with the work of the Holy Spirit and the strength that comes from God. The word "glory" (doxa) is used to describe the splendor and majesty of God.
Who is the Holy Spirit and why is Paul praying that we fully be strengthened in the Holy Spirit?
Hebrew: The Hebrew term often associated with the Holy Spirit is "ruach hakodesh" (רוּחַ הַקֹּדֶשׁ). The word "ruach" means "wind," "breath," or "spirit," and "hakodesh" means "holy." This phrase is used throughout the Old Testament to refer to the Holy Spirit. Greek: The corresponding Greek term for the Holy Spirit is "pneuma hagion" (πνεῦμα ἅγιον). "Pneuma" means "spirit" or "breath," and "hagion" means "holy." This phrase is used in the New Testament to refer to the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity in Christian theology. Here are some key beliefs about the identity and role of the Holy Spirit:
- The Holy Spirit is God. The Holy Spirit is divine, eternal, and equal with God the Father and Jesus the Son.
- The Holy Spirit is a Person, not just a force. He has intellect, emotions, and will. He actively works in the world and indwells believers.
- The Holy Spirit was involved in Creation and inspired the writers of Scripture.
- Jesus promised the disciples that after His ascension, the Holy Spirit would come to be present with and in believers. This happened at Pentecost.
- The Holy Spirit convicts people of sin and testifies to who Jesus is. He guides believers into truth and righteousness.
- The Holy Spirit dwells in the hearts of believers upon salvation. He cultivates spiritual growth and character qualities in them.
- The Holy Spirit gives believers spiritual gifts and empowerment for ministry. He produces spiritual fruit in them.
- The Holy Spirit comforts, teaches, intercedes, and advocates for believers. He seals them as God's possession and deposit guaranteeing their inheritance.
In summary, the Holy Spirit is God present and active in the world and in the lives of believers. He acts as comforter, counselor, revealer of truth, empowerer, and advocate for those who place their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.
Let give you the meaning and insight about strength
Here are some details about strength in Hebrew:
- The main Hebrew word for strength is כֹּחַ (koach). This word can refer to physical strength, military might, political power, or moral fortitude.
- The word koach originally referred to the capacity or potential to do something. It comes from the verb כּוּחַ (kuach) meaning "to be firm" or "to have vigor."
- Koach is often used in phrases like "the strength of my salvation" or "the Lord is my strength." It conveys the idea of having a firm foundation or reliable support.
- The word picture connects strength to the idea of being bound firmly together. The related word כֹּחֵי (kochei) means sinews or ligaments - things that connect and give strength to the body.
- Overall, koach in Hebrew evokes images of having resilience, stability, and trusted resources to draw from in times of hardship or exertion. It is less about brute force and more about enduring capacity.
1.We are strengthened with power through the Holy Spirit
A. The Holy Spirit gives us power - Acts 1:8 says "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses..."
B. This power equips us to do God's work - 2 Timothy 1:7 says "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline."
Transition: Not only does the Spirit give us power, He fills us with God's supernatural love.
C. We was God’s plan from the very beginning and the Holy Spirit was very active and involved in this plan
Before the stars blinked awake, we were penned into God's flawless plan. Before the earth spun its first rotation, the Spirit stirred over humanity's formation. Long before the first heartbeat drummed, God's masterpiece was already being authored - with the Holy Spirit's gentle guidance over every detail.
2. The Holy Spiritpirit will give you strength to overcome every obstacle that you're walking through this even includes transitioning from one season into a new season
Hook: Change often brings hurdles, but we don't face them alone. The Holy Spirit empowers us with supernatural strength for the journey ahead. Transition: Let's look at how the Holy Spirit gives us strength to overcome any obstacle we face. A. Strength to endure pain and hardship
B. Hardship strikes without warning, leaving us stunned. But the Spirit stands with us in suffering, like bedrock beneath sinking sand. The Holy Spirit upholds and carries us through painful trials. As 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 says, "We are hard pressed...but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair." Transition: Not only does the Spirit give us endurance, He also provides wisdom for tough decisions.
The pain you feel today is the strength you'll feel tomorrow
C. Wisdom for difficult choices Hook: At the crossroads, when paths diverge and the way forward blurs, the Holy Spirit illuminates the right course. The Spirit gives insight to know God's will, even when faced with confusing options. As James 1:5 assures, "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously." Transition: With the Spirit's strength, we can step into new seasons with boldness and purpose.
D. . Courage to walk into new seasons Hook: As the door swings open to a new season, the Spirit stands ready to lead us forth with boldness. He equips us to live out our next chapter for God's glory. Romans 8:15 promises, "You received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, 'Abba, Father.'" The Spirit gives us an adopted child's courage to journey where God calls us. Conclusion Transition: The Holy Spirit empowers us to walk steadfastly through every struggle or season change. Let's embrace the strength He offers. E. You are never alone, no matter what obstacles arise, because the Holy Spirit is within you to guide you through the transition or obstacle. The enemy will always try to make you think you are by yourself, but that's not true. The Holy Spirit is with you every step of the way.
My brothers and sisters, there is a power available to each and every one of us that will shake the foundations of your life and revolutionize your purpose. A power that will break open wells of living water in the parched ground of your heart. I'm talking about the unmatched, undeniable power of the Holy Spirit living and breathing within you!
The Holy Spirit will give you compassion to overcome the obstacles knowing that this too shall pass
Compassion will pick you up when condemnation has knocked you down."

A. God loves us too much to leave us without the strength we need to face each day. He faithfully provides His strength whenever we lean on Him. His love strengthens us to live boldly and courageously as followers of Jesus. We are empowered by Love Himself!
Hook : God always leads those He loves into fuller measures of consecration and dedication to Himself."
B. God doesn't just love us from afar, He loves us to our very core—infusing strength into our weakened souls, fortifying our feeble hearts, revitalizing our wearied minds. His love strengthens.
C. Strength to stand firm in faith
Hook: The winds of trial howl against us, yet God's love enables us to stand unshaken. His strengthening love steadies us on the rock Christ Jesus.
"Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power." (Ephesians 6:10)
D. God Love so much that we become unshakable and resilient - Being resilient means being able to adapt and bounce back when facing adversity, trauma, tragedy, or significant stress. It's about adapting well over time to stressful situations.
The will of God won't take you where the grace of God can't keep you."
"Everything we receive from God must be activated by faith."
4. The power of the Holy Spirit is transformative and dynamic.
a. We are being transformed consistently and we cannot be afraid of being transformed .............Transformation simply means go in a new way
B. false feelings that come from the enemy will always cloud your judgment but, when you live in your true self and experience true transformation you can discern the true feelings that come from the father that makes you healthy.
My transformation should be leading to the formation of things… When we are engaging in true self we can start moving to the creativity that is upon our life, this is all done by the Holy Spirit that is within us
C. We must develop a hearing ear it is part of our spiritual formation and transformation John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me,”
When you're hearing from God you must learn to practice with the listening ear..... You have to stay in it just like you're talking to another person .
The voice of God produced in us is love, joy, peace, kindness, self-control, it's the fruit of the spirit that's his voice.
D. anytime that you move towards the Lord three things occur
False believe
Fear
formula
And that is what is always pushing back against us
When we make space for Jesus to heal us he heals us according to our faith. The false identity says that Time is the healer and that's not true Jesus is the great healer this is all done from being strengthen and transformed by the Holy Spirit
Took : The Holy Spirit strengthens us inwardly with God's power and fills us with His supernatural love. This transforms how we live and empowers us to impact the world around us.
Challenge: Will you open yourself to being filled and strengthened by the Holy Spirit so you can live in the supernatural power of God's love?
