YOU’RE WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH.
YOU’RE WHAT COMES OUT OF YOUR MOUTH.
INTRODUCTION:
THE MOUTH HAS BEEN USED TO PUT OUT FIRES AND TO START FIRES.
BUT IN THE HEAT OF THE MOMENT WE ALL HAVE SAID SOME THINGS THAT WE WISH WE COULD HAVE TAKEN BACK.
A LOT OF TIMES IT STEAMS FROM WHAT WE HOLD INSIDE OF US, INSTEAD OF TAKING IT TO THE LORD, SO WHEN IT COMES OUT , IT COMES OUT SOFT INSTEAD OF HARD.
WORDS ARE DAMAGING AND WE HAVE KILLED MANY PEOPLE WITH OUR MOUTHS.
BUT IN ORDER TO BRING FORTH FRUIT FROM OUR MOUTHS,IT MUST COME OUT WITH ENCOURAGEMENT WITH A LOT OF LOVE.
TODAY I LIKE TO DISCUSS.
WHAT DOES THE MOUTH SPEAK?
WHAT IS THE REPERCUSSION OF SPEAKING IDLE WORDS?
HOW SHALL WE BE JUSTIFIED, AND HOW SHALL WE BE CONDEMNED BY OUR WORDS?
A. WHAT DOES THE MOUTH SPEAK?
MATTHEW 12:34-35 “O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things.”
IT IS HARD FOR A SNAKE TO SPEAK GOOD THINGS TO ANYONE, BECAUSE WHEN HE SPEAK HIS WORDS BITE.
YOUR MOUTH WILL REVEAL WHO YOU REALLY ARE.
USUALLY IN YOUR THOUGHTS, FEELING AND ACTIONS.
REMEMBER THE OLD SLOGAN, YOUR ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS.
THAT’S WHY IT’S SO IMPORTANT THAT WE NOURISH OUR INNER LIFE WITH GOD’S WORD.
WHAT WE ALLOW TO COME INTO OUR HEARTS IS THE VERY THING THAT WILL HAVE AN EFFECT ON WHAT WE SAY OUT OF OUR MOUTHS.
YOU CANT’ SPEAK GOD’S LANGUAGE, IF YOUR LANGUAGE IS OF THE WORLD.
A GOOD MAN BRINGS FORTH GOOD THINGS FROM HIS HEART BECAUSE IT IS PURE AND TRUSTWORTHY, BUT A EVIL MAN BRINGS FORTH EVIL THINGS FROM HIS HEART BECAUSE HIS MOTIVES IS IMPURE AND HIS HEART IS DECEPTIVE.
JESUS WAS TALKING ABOUT THE HEARTS OF THE PHARISEES HOW THEY GRAVITATE TO EVIL.
SOME US OF GRAVITATE MORE TO EVIL THAN GOOD AND IT REFLECT IN OUR CHARACTER.
OUT OF THE ABUNDANCE OF OUR HEARTS THAT’S WHERE ISSUES OF THE HEART ARE THROWN OUT. SOMETIMES THESE ISSUES CAN BE POSITIVE OR NEGATIVE.
LUKE 6:45 “A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.”
B. WHAT IS THE REPERCUSSIONS OF SPEAKING IDLE WORD?
MATTHEW 12:36 “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.”
IDLE WORDS ARE WORDS THAT ARE USELESS AND UNPROFITABLE. THEY DON’T BUILD UP BUT TEAR DOWN.
HOW MANY WORDS HAVE YOU LET COME OUT OF YOUR MOUTH BECAUSE YOU THOUGHT YOU WAS TELLING SOMEBODY ABOUT THEMSELVES, ONLY TO MAKE A FOOL OF YOURSELVES.
IT ONLY REVEAL YOUR TRUE CHARACTER., YOU’RE NOT OUT TO SHOW LOVE TO THE ONE’S THAT IS NOT LOVABLE, BUT YOU’RE OUT TO GET EVEN.
WHERE HAVE GETTING EVEN WITH SOMEONE ELSE HAS BROUGHT ANYTHING TO YOU LIFE. IF ANYTHING IT BROUGHT BITTERNESS.
OUR MOUTHS HAS GOTTEN MANY OF US IN TROUBLE, GOSSIPING ABOUT OTHER’S, WHICH HAS CAUSED DIVISION AMONG’ST MANY OF US.
JESUS SAID THAT WE WILL HAVE TO GIVE ACCOUNT THEREOF IN THE DAY OF JUDGEMENT, EVERY WORD THAT BEEN SPOKEN FROM OUR HEARTS, WE WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR HOW WE USED OUR WORDS.
JAMES 3:2-10 “For in many things we offend all. If any man offend not in word, the same is a perfect man, and able also to bridle the whole body. Behold, we put bits in the horses’ mouths, that they may obey us; and we turn about their whole body. Behold also the ships, which though they be so great, and are driven of fierce winds, yet are they turned about with a very small helm, whithersoever the governor listeth. Even so the tongue is a little member, and boasteth great things. Behold, how great a matter a little fire kindleth. And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue amongst our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. For every kind of beasts, and of birds, and of serpents, and of things in the sea, is tamed, and hath been tamed of mankind: but the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made …”
C. HOW SHALL WE BE JUSTIFIED, AND HOW SHALL WE BE CONDEMN BY OUR WORDS.
MATTHEW 12:37 “For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.”
WHAT WORDS WILL JUSTIFY YOU? THEY ARE WORDS THAT WILL ADVANCE GOD’S KINGDOM, WORDS THAT WILL ESTEEM OTHERS, AND WORDS THAT WILL COMMUNICATE LOVE.
WHAT WORDS WILL CONDEMN YOU? WORD’S THAT ARE ABUSIVE, MEANING DESTROYING ONES CHARACTER AND BRINGING SOMEONE DOWN. WORD’S USED WITH PROFANITY, MEANING BEHAVIOR THAT SHOWS A LACK OF RESPECT FOR GOD OR HOLY THINGS.
PROVERB 18:21 “Death and life are in the power of the tongue: And they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.”
ONE DAY EACH OF US GOING TO EAT EACH WORD THAT EVER CAME OUT OF OUR MOUTHS RATHER GOOD OR BAD.
