If bought friend to Church - Be Blessed - Today was the HS Message | Local Church Message | But the HS prodded ME!
Last - what we loved.
Spoke about Death of Jesus | Once He Died -
And behold, the curtain of the temple was torn in two, from top to bottom. And the earth shook, and the rocks were split.
Veil represented divide between us and God | Split | Sad Part - stiched back up | Mentioned maybe we have | HS went BAM.
This is what God has for us | The veil, the blockage | Some of us, in our wisdom | Stitched back up | forget = God is accessible.
forgotton God is in our Situation | Turning Lives around etc.

Sermon Series: Almighty and all of us
Value: We will be a part of the "new thing" that God is doing.
God is a Creator, and we will always seek to discern and follow the fresh direction He wants to bring.
Remember - First love? “Honeymoon period”
But I have this against you, that you have abandoned the love you had at first.
Today, I want to speak to those who thinks God not creator | May have forgotton their first love | Somewhere along journey, a void created and we believe God stopped seeing your situation.
Do not hide your face from me in the day of my distress! Incline your ear to me; answer me speedily in the day when I call!
My heart is struck down like grass and has withered; I forget to eat my bread. Because of my loud groaning my bones cling to my flesh.
Forgot to eat - so much pressure - normality is not normal.
I lie awake; I am like a lonely sparrow on the housetop.
“Sparrow” - Lives in group | Now, alone on Roof | Lost his way - Normally in company of many | Isolated and alone.
When Jesus died | Curtain ripped in two - He made a way - NEVER be alone | However, we are good at blocking God from our Situation.
Church Hurt | People hurt | Weirdness - What is it for you?
Build the Wall
Let’s look at Hagar | God Promised Sarai child | Wasn’t happening | She wants a New thing (baby) | Built a wall.
So Sarai decides to plan | believes God’s timeline = impossible |
God had a way - Wasn’t good enough - Sarai came up with Human Plan.
Decided Hagar would have child | Sarai ended up hating her | Hagar Fled from Sarai in Wilderness.
The angel of the Lord found her by a spring of water in the wilderness, the spring on the way to Shur.

Angel then asks where she going | He knew |
And the angel of the Lord said to her, “Behold, you are pregnant and shall bear a son. You shall call his name Ishmael, because the Lord has listened to your affliction.
Ishmael - The Lord Hears |
Hagar, May feel life off deep end | but I knew where you where | I sent an angel | This is not search mission | Already had Son for you.
Your distress Hagar - been Heard by Lord.
Some of you need to hear - Your Distress has been heard by Lord.
So she called the name of the Lord who spoke to her, “You are a God of seeing,” for she said, “Truly here I have seen him who looks after me.”
Some Unusual Things:
God usually announces His Name, not people | Hagar announces “you are God that sees me” - Hebrew - EL ROI - You are the GOD WHO SEE’S ME.
Who is Hagar? Servant Girl, got trumped into story she shouldn’t of been | now God has come to her and she calls God
EL ROI - the God who See’s Me.
Kids Hide and Seek - Terrible - Because they want to be found.
We get older - We get great at hiding and camoflauging from God - White Washed Tombs
Sometimes | Not sparrow on rooftop because your life got hijacked - Sparrow on rooftop because you hijacked God’s plan for your life -
and built wall.
and Now, cry of your heart is - Where is God?
Adam and Eve | Bought lie something was better than God | Sinned | Jumped in Bushes | As if God couldn’t find them
He said “Adam, where are you” - Why? saying: you’re being ridiculous.
Prodigal Son - went away, threw life away - When he was far off - God saw and Ran - Because God’s name is EL ROI.
The God who See’s me. You may have put up this wall - but here’s the thing | God still see’s you.
Listen - Don’t know where you are | How much you feel like sparrow | but God is EL ROI.
Not only does God See you | He Cares about YOU.
Jesus also spoke about Sparrows:
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
In Jesus day | Sparrows = Little bite | What God is saying today - Every one of these that drop to ground, God cared about.
These little morsals, werent’ called to walk with and talk with YAHWEH - How much more does He love you |
You were paid for and bought back from the dead | Curtain was ripped | God is saying, I am aware of everything in your story.
Not just big things | Little things
AND - He wants to do new thing - But it’s time to rip Curtain;
God doesn’t see me | Does Can’t do that - Move like that | Heal | Care | Restore | The cry is: I want to be close!
For a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
Then beautiful invitation
Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at your altars, O Lord of hosts, my King and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house, ever singing your praise! Selah
even little sparrow find home.
Hagar | God saw her | In wilderness - You will bear son - God hears - God is EL ROI - God See’s your situation - He wants to do a NEW THING.
Enemy will say = God does not hear you because of your circumstnace | Because of sitaution HE does not care - If he cared, he would fix it -
Those lies launch us into thousands of other lies.
Today - Let’s move toward in truth - Yes mess, but He see’s you - Yes circumstance sucks - He sees you. God is near.
This is my story - that God is EL ROI - That God SEE’s ME.
Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you.
Only thing dependable in life is = God is WITH ME - Because of Jesus on Cross;

They will perish, but you will remain...
Not a message today that there is no brokeness, or Sin in world - but rather, God is near.
Don’t know how sovereign timeline works | But God is near | and it’s only when you tear curtain, when you knock down wall - He can do NEW THING | Take God out of Box.
What will practically happen, to prepare for New thing;
1. Things may not change immediately- but it will Shift | What does that mean? Able to confess - You are not stuck in somebody’s story - Stuck in God’s story.
“I’m just stuck” vs “I’m not JUST STUCK - I’m going to focus on fact, I’m in God’s Story”
2. Worry wastes the wonder of knowing that you are in the almighty’s story.
Kids Walk away from adults - what are they doing - always looking back - As long as you know that the heavenly father can see you - let’s worship, instead of worry.
3. Destroy Religion and seek Relationship.
4. Confidence springs from the concious decision to recognise and achnowledge that God is With YOU.
I’m going to Acknowledge that God is here. It may seem crazy, but it’s a confession that changes circumstances.
Spirit lives in Me - God is not only beside me, inside me - All around me
What is it? ‘
Dry bones? God breath on them
Feel far - Lord MEET ME HERE
Foresaken? NOpe, not ever was I forsaken -
I am making a decision that the narrative is changing - Almighty is here
Your in a bind, I get it but almighty is here - not end
- almighty is here.
Don’t pity me | amighty is here | feel sorry for circumstance but not for me, almighty is here |
My God is sea parter - Beauty from ashes - doesn’t forsake - breaths life on me.
New thing is coming | Hard | Never what I expected but if God is there, I’m there.
Concious decisions that GOD IS NEAR. Lord…Will you meet me here?

Lastly - When Hagar named God El Roi - Remember that Spring she was next to…she had a name for it...
Therefore the well was called Beer-lahai-roi; it lies between Kadesh and Bered.
Beer-Lahai-Roi = “The Well of the Living One who Sees Me”
Where she was, was Beer-Lahai-Roi.
but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him will never be thirsty again. The water that I will give him will become in him a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”
You have a spring in you - The spring of living waters- It completely satisfies - Where ever you go.
What ever situation - You have the Well of the living one who sees me.

I believe in El Roi, and I am ready, for the new thing that God is doing.
