WHAT CAN JESUS DO FOR YOUR HOME?
TEXT: “I am reminded of your sincere faith, a faith that dwelt first in your grandmother Lois and your mother Eunice and now, I am sure, dwells in you” (2 Tim. 1:5).
INTRODUCTION: Timothy’s home in Lystra shed forth the glow of living faith, the faith that admitted Jesus. What He did in and for that home, He has done for countless other homes; and He will do it for your home and for any home that gives Him a welcome to dwell with them.

I. See what He did for homes when He was here on earth.

A. He solved problems in the home—as in Cana of Galilee when the refreshments were used up (see John 2:1–11). He was sufficient and is sufficient for all problems.

B. He healed mothers, including Peter’s mother-in-law (see Matt. 8:14–17).

C. He redeemed fathers from covetousness—Matthew (Matt. 9:9) and Zaccheus (Luke 19:2–10).

D. He gave sight to blind sons (see John 9).

E. He raised children from death (see Mark 5:35–42; Luke 7:11–15).

F. He cast demons out of sons and daughters (see Luke 9:37–43; Mark 7:24–29).

II. What He did for others when He was here on earth He still does for those who seek Him.

A. It is not a question of His ability. It is a question of your accessibility. Is your home open to Him?

B. What can He do? He can give eternal life; and that is salvation.

C. He will give “union” with Himself. Think of the “branch” and the “vine” (see John 15).

CONCLUSION: Young people who are the product of homes where Jesus lives, we urge you to set up Christian homes. These homes will be saving homes, and the transforming Lord will be made known to the community and beyond
Remember Christ’s invitation and promise: “Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if any one hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me (Rev. 3:20).
