Matthew 20:1–16 ““The kingdom of heaven is like a landowner who went out at dawn to hire laborers for his vineyard. After agreeing with them for the usual daily wage, he sent them into his vineyard. Going out about nine o’clock, he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, and he said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard, and I will give you what is just.’ So they went off. And he went out again around noon, and around three o’clock, and did likewise. Going out about five o’clock, he found others standing around, and said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ They answered, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You too go into my vineyard.’ When it was evening the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Summon the laborers and give them their pay, beginning with the last and ending with the first.’ When those who had started about five o’clock came, each received the usual daily wage. So when the first came, they thought that they would receive more, but each of them also go…”

The first addressing in this parable are the Jews

Cornelius à Lapide
All this parabolically signifies the envy of the Jews against the Gentiles, for they were offended because the Gentiles were made equal to them in the grace and glory of their Messiah:
I answer that Christ was not here treating of that point, but He only intended to eradicate from the Jews their prejudice, and arrogant claim to the first place in the kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus is giving this
The Parishes believe that they should be the first, since they were the chosen one, but Jesus says, is not the time, but the grace of God, even if you were the first called, I will go a make disciples of all the nations.
26 He made from one the whole human race to dwell on the entire surface of the earth, and he fixed the ordered seasons and the boundaries of their regions, 27 so that people might seek God, even perhaps grope for him and find him, though indeed he is not far from any one of us
Ac 17:26–27.
God has determinate the time when he will call the nations, the Jews at the beginning, the Romans, Asian, the American nations, here PNG. Those nation are called at the hour that he wanted to work for the salvation for his salvation.
At the evening he starts to call again, but now the call is different he call first the last, and the fist at last.
And if they work all receive the same payment the eternal life.
And they were complaining we have worked hard, like the prodigal son…
But it is not our work but the goodness of God, everting is a gift of God.
They believe that because they have the law, and they have worked God must be obligated to pay them according this, but is no for our work, but the generosity of God that we receive the salvation.
This parable contains also a prophecies, saying to the Jews, you were the first, but I will go to call others, and they will receive the same payment, because salvation comes by the goodness of God.

This gospel also applies to my life, Jesus is calling: Look I'm at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in, I will dine with him and he with me.
We have to learn for those workers, they hear the voice of God and went to work, there is no payment without work, even and small work is required by our salvation, God, who created you without you, will not save you without you, Saint Agustin.
We see the mystery of our redemption not only sola fide you believe and will be save, you heard the call and will be save, not only this you have to work, the payment will be the same the enteral life. ‌
So our salvation do no depend only to believe, believe and work.
God is calling to work in his field, to cultivate the life of prayer, the meditation of the Gospel, and the living of the sacraments.
We have to attend this call, Saint Agustin used to say, I’m afraid to the Lord that pass…
8 Today if you shall hear his voice, harden not your hearts:
9 As in the provocation, according to the day of temptation in the wilderness: where your fathers tempted me, they proved me, and saw my works.
Ps 94:7–9
Some are call, at the beginning another's at the middle, others at evening, the important Is to answer.
