The Hope set before us.

Hebrews 6:13–19 (NKJV)
13 For when God made a promise to Abraham, because He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself,
14 saying, “Surely blessing I will bless you, and multiplying I will multiply you.”
15 And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16 For men indeed swear by the greater, and an oath for confirmation is for them an end of all dispute.
17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed it by an oath,
18 that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before us.
19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil,
20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”
There is a hope that is layed before us,
Like Abraham who left his country and kindred to holding on to the hope that was set before him by God, we too have fled this world to lay hold of the hope that is set before us.
This Hope is powerful that it is anchor of the Soul.

The nature of this Hope.

What makes this hope steadfast and sure?
Because it is grounded in two immutable things.
The Immutability of God’s counsel, the unachangebleness of God’s mind.
The fact that it is impossible for God to lie.
When God swore to Abraham by himself, it was because the only thing that cannot change is God.
God was letting Abraham know that just like i don’t change, what i promised you will not change.
Malachi 3:6 NKJV
6 “For I am the Lord, I do not change; Therefore you are not consumed, O sons of Jacob.
Numbers 23:19–20 (NKJV)
19 “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
20 Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.
The callings and gift of God are without repentance.
James 1:17 NKJV
17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.
He never changes nor casts a shifting shadow.
Romans 11:29 NKJV
29 For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

The Hope is an anchor to the soul

Hebrews 6:19–20 NKJV
19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
The Anchor brings stability to the ship in the midst of the sea.
As such, this hope brings stabitity to our sould i the midst of the everchanging cirtcumstances and situation that we may be in.
We are not moved by every wind that blows in various directions, or by every waves of the sea that is tossed towards our lives.
This hope is we hold fast to it it will bring us even to the Presence behind the veil

Wait for with this hope with perserverence.

Romans 8:18–25 NKJV
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
Hebrews 11:1 “1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”
Ephesians 1:15-18 “15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,”
Conclusion
Romans 15:13 “13 Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
