Each day I’ll do a golden dead

This hymn reminds us of a scriptural truth that we are to do good everyday. Good deeds are a part of a Christian service to God
Galatians 6:9–10 NASB95
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
don’t get discouraged in doing good
you’ll reap what you sow
do good while we have opportunity because a time will came when we can’t
do good to all people
especially to the household of faith
Hebrews 10:24 (NASB95)
and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds,
stimulate - provoke - encourage - push to love and good deeds - rousing to activity - stirring up
Hebrews 13:16 (NASB95)
And do not neglect doing good and sharing, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
don’t neglect doing good - don’t over look or forget
Titus 2:7 NASB95
in all things show yourself to be an example of good deeds, with purity in doctrine, dignified,
set the example - don’t wait for others, you lead
Titus 3:8 NASB95
This is a trustworthy statement; and concerning these things I want you to speak confidently, so that those who have believed God will be careful to engage in good deeds. These things are good and profitable for men.
think of intent on
Titus 3:14 NASB95
Our people must also learn to engage in good deeds to meet pressing needs, so that they will not be unfruitful.
learned behavior
meet pressing needs
don’t be unfruitful
Ephesians 2:10 NASB95
For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
created for this very purpose
How do we equip ourselves for good works? How do we know what good works are? How do we get tin the spirit of good works?
2 Timothy 3:16–17 NASB95
All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work.
“my life must shine along the way”
Matthew 5:16 NASB95
“Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
1 John 3:17–18 NASB95
But whoever has the world’s goods, and sees his brother in need and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God abide in him? Little children, let us not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
What if God said I love you but never sent His Son?
“help a troubled soul”
“be kind good and pure”
“lend a helping hand”
“lift some travelers load”
“make flowers bloom along the way” Make the journey to heaven be paved in good and beautiful deeds that make life better for others.

Life’s evening sun is sinking low

Ecclesiastes 6:12 NASB95
For who knows what is good for a man during his lifetime, during the few years of his futile life? He will spend them like a shadow. For who can tell a man what will be after him under the sun?
only a few years of life and when not used for God’s purpose it is meaning less futile worthless, vain
James 4:13–14 NASB95
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to such and such a city, and spend a year there and engage in business and make a profit.” Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow. You are just a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes away.
we don’t know how much time we have
life is short
“life’s evening sun is sinking low”
“my life on earth is but a span”
1 Peter 1:24 NASB95
For, “All flesh is like grass, And all its glory like the flower of grass. The grass withers, And the flower falls off,
we only have a few days when you consider our lives in perspective of eternity. (rope)
Some of us are closer to the end of our life than we are from the beginning
Psalm 90:10–14 NASB95
As for the days of our life, they contain seventy years, Or if due to strength, eighty years, Yet their pride is but labor and sorrow; For soon it is gone and we fly away. Who understands the power of Your anger And Your fury, according to the fear that is due You? So teach us to number our days, That we may present to You a heart of wisdom. Do return, O Lord; how long will it be? And be sorry for Your servants. O satisfy us in the morning with Your lovingkindness, That we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
we have 70 80 90 years?
Galatians 6:10 NASB95
So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith.
while we have opportunity

I must go to meet the deeds that I have done

one inescapable fact
Ecclesiastes 12:13–14 NASB95
The conclusion, when all has been heard, is: fear God and keep His commandments, because this applies to every person. For God will bring every act to judgment, everything which is hidden, whether it is good or evil.
2 Corinthians 5:10 NASB95
For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may be recompensed for his deeds in the body, according to what he has done, whether good or bad.
i must go to meet the deeds that I have done where there will be no setting sun
if you are like me you understand we can’t earn heaven but you better , live like one who is heading there
Revelation 20:11–15 NASB95
Then I saw a great white throne and Him who sat upon it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before the throne, and books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life; and the dead were judged from the things which were written in the books, according to their deeds. And the sea gave up the dead which were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead which were in them; and they were judged, every one of them according to their deeds. Then death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
Matthew 25:34–46 NASB95
“Then the King will say to those on His right, ‘Come, you who are blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. ‘For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me; I was in prison, and you came to Me.’ “Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? ‘And when did we see You a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? ‘When did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ “The King will answer and say to them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did it to one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it to Me.’ “Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels; for I was hungry, and you gave Me nothing to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me nothing to drink; I was a stranger, and you did not invite Me in; naked, and you did not clothe Me; sick, and in prison, and you did not visit Me.’ “Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’ “Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’ “These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”
