Matthew 25:31-34

The reason for our hope is in our inheritance.....to be in the presence of God the Father and His The Lord Jesus Christ.......To inherit the Kingdom of God.....
What I just read sounds wonderful........and it is wonderful to the believer only! The sheep, those stupid sheep, relying on their Good Shepherd rather than themselves, because there was one thing that they knew for certain.......they have no source to live but their Shepherd!
The only entrance into this Kingdom is the Good Shepherd! Otherwise they are just a goat!
The sheep have a reason for their hope!
Jesus warns the sheep.....Matthew 7:15 “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.”
What satan desires is for us to believe lies and forget about our hope...
Or let circumstances to rise above the promise of God!
It is deception, it is a lie, it is not true!
If our hope relies in a belief in a person and work that is separate from us, then why do we allow fleshly things to dictate our future hope won for us by God the Son
As I spoke this morning......many tribulations/temptations come our way......The main objective is to lose sight of our hope.......for our minds to be carried away with distractions and calamity where we cannot see God’s truth........I heard a sermon one time called “The Battle That Rages For Our Minds”
2 Corinthians 4:4 “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”
In that sermon, the preacher said that this has been going since the beginning........The people in Noah’s day was not that far removed from the creation of God, yet their minds was not even near God, so much so they mocked the “preacher of righteousness” (Noah).......It was not till the judgement of God came and the final escape was closed that they saw God! It was too late!
The battle is that this world is evil/wicked/unrighteous/fallen/ and God is the Only Right Way!
Even the most “religious people” hated God’s Son that was completely faithful to God the Father’s way, in which they claimed they followed after......Jesus said.......John 7:7 “The world cannot hate you; but me it hateth, because I testify of it, that the works thereof are evil.”
Jesus also said in John 3:19 “And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.”
This is a battle that rages for our minds and that it eats at us so much that we are fixated on this world and the fruits of it, which perishes like the flower and the grass!
Look back to what Jesus said in Matthew 24:36-39......Men will be carrying on about their business, not concerned with the Truth of Jesus Christ......loving darkness rather than light!
This battle is to take away the knowledge of the Truth of Jesus Christ.......Our Hope through the ONLY WAY!
Paul talks about this battle......Ephesians 6:10-20 ........this is not a battle for the world........this is a battle to pull us away from the Truth/Reality of God....BY faith in Christ the battle is already won, but do we believe!
Our future, our hope, our spiritual lives is the reality of your life.....not how you turn out down here, but it is in Whom you believe!
Verse 17 tells us about the Helmet of Salvation.......protecting from the invasion of our minds with thoughts of worldly ways and worldly hopes and dreams!
No matter where we are at and how life goes, it will never dictate our promise through Christ, that never changes!
We believe in that promise, we earnestly expect that promise and nothing carries more weight than that in our lives, therefore our lives are dictated by that truth!
It is prophesied of Christ in Isaiah 59:17 “For he put on righteousness as a breastplate, And an helmet of salvation upon his head; And he put on the garments of vengeance for clothing, And was clad with zeal as a cloke.”
Certainly, Jesus fought the battle for the mind in the wilderness and in the Garden......
Paul spoke of the Helmet of Salvation......1 Thessalonians 5:8 “But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.”
