Hebrews 11:39-12:2

1. The company of the faithful

Hebrews 11:39 All these were approved through their faith,

2. The anticipation of the faithful

Hebrews 11:39-40 “BUT… They did not yet receive what was promised. Since God had provided something better for us, so that they would not be made perfect without us.”

3. The task of the faithful

Hebrews 12:1 Therefore, since we also have such a large cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us lay aside every hindrance and the sin that so easily ensnares us.

4. The focus of the faithful

Hebrews 12:1b Let us run with endurance the race that lies before us, 2 keeping our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of our faith. For the joy that lay before him, he endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Galatians 2:20 says, “I have been crucified with Christ, and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me”
