Q:1 - What is the Bible?

“A unified story that leads to Jesus”

Q:2 - How do “theme videos” help us experience the Bible as a Unified Story?

Biblical Theology

Q:3 - Was there any significance to Heaven & Earth being the first theme video?

Golden thread / Foundational reality
“The union of Heaven and Earth is what the story of the Bible is all about.”
This book traces the foundational reality at the heart of the biblical story: God's desire and determination to be with His people. Ultimately, the mighty and wondrous deeds of God found in the Bible are all done for one reason…
So He could dwell with us, and we with Him.
Always and forever, world without end.

Q:4 - What is God creating in Genesis 1-2?

God’s space + Man’s space
Temple imagery in Eden
Wholeness / Shalom / Flourishing

Q:5 - How was this lost?

I see all around me and most concerning deep within me a lack of flourishing. We’ve lost something.

Q:6 - How is God fixing this? More specifically how do Abraham’s descendants (Israel) play into the solution?

Tracking Abraham’s family is a HUGE (often overlooked) part of the Bible

Q:7 - How does Jesus (the God-Man) and his life, death, and resurrection play into this theme?

“...on Earth as it is in Heaven.”
“The Kingdom of Heaven is arriving.”
He “tabernacled” in our midst.
A new Adam?

Q: 8 - How does the story of Heaven and Earth end?

Oft-missed ending (Does God abandon His original plan?)
A new heaven and new earth

Q:9 - So what does this mean for the Christian today?

We know the what God created, how we lost it, how he began fixing it through Abraham’s family, how he ultimately fixes it in Jesus, and how the whole story ends, but how do we fit in the story?

Q: 10 - What does family discipleship or Bible study look like in the Mackie home?

Two sons? How old? Wife involved?
The power of Story.
The Bible as a story.
Andrew Peterson Quote.
