Laver of Water Praying

Laver of Water -

When you leave the Altar of Sacrifice you then move to the Laver of Water.
Last week I couldn’t hardly leave the alter....
Didn’t feel ready to minister before the Lord...
This is where the priest would wash the off the blood of the sacrifices from his hands.
In prayer we have a way of getting a fresh start.
The biggest battle that most people fight is in their mind.
This is why we are called to renew our mind.
Ephesians 5 Paul writes about a husband and wife relationship and compares it to the church as the bride and Christ as the head - In this dissertation he makes a powerful statement that points to the power of the Word.
Ephesians 5:25–27 NKJV
25 Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, 26 that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, 27 that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
This is very important because it clarifies why we do not need to be baptized after our initial baptism.
After the baptism in water our sanctification comes from the washing of the Word.
Two reasons we need to allow Word to wash us -
To clear our conscience, purify our minds, renew our thoughts, etc...
To lead us down the road of sanctification (Life Change).
If you repent and yet fail to allow the Word to speak into your life you are in essences saying, I am sorry I did what I did, but I have no desire to know how to change my ways.
The Word of God is sharp and able to dissect the inner man...
severing the working of the Spirit from the influence of the will, mind and emotions of the soul.
While we are being bombarded by the world and every sin thinkable, we need our heart, mind, will, emotions, desires, etc cleansed by the purifying power of the Word.
This is why we must learn to pray the Word...
This may come from memory or from a list of scriptures that you like to pray or from the Bible itself.
The word of God is full of other peoples prayers...
Don’t be afraid to pray the scripture and
Meditate on the Word and
allow it bath you,
washing you and
cleansing you from the filthiness of the flesh.
