United through our past.
for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
We’ve all got a past.
Our past does not define us, but it is a great teacher.
We are all born into this world with a sin nature.
For example, Ryker.
Ryker is a cute kid. One of the cutest to me, but Ryker still has a sin nature.
Plugs… climbing.... etc.
We all have a sin nature, but thankfully it does not define who we are.
If you have a relationship with Jesus, then you are defined by who Jesus is in your life.
For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
2. United in the present.
As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead.
As we mentioned , we can’t change the past, but we can make today count.
We are all going through this act of sanctification. We are striving to be more like Jesus daily. (or we should be)
Johnny Manzeil. (share stories from college career) great college football player, but when he got to the NFL he stopped working on his craft.
Salvation isn’t the destination, it’s the starting point.
3. United for what’s to come.
For here we do not have an enduring city, but we are looking for the city that is to come.
Brent Crowe writes, we are just pilgrims wandering well to the heaven country.
“Imagine getting to Heaven, and a voice you’ve never heard before shouts “mama””
