Principle: We cannot achieve the fullness G-d desires for us in our lives without hearts wholly devoted to Him.
Parasha Ki Tavo
Moses called to all Israel and said to them, “You have seen all that Adonai did before your eyes in the land of Egypt, to Pharaoh and all his servants and all his land—
the great trials that your eyes saw, those great signs and wonders.
But to this day Adonai has not given you a heart to know, or eyes to see, or ears to hear.

Guard your heart diligently, for from it flow the springs of life.
Parasha Ki Tavo
“Circumcise the foreskin of your heart therefore, and do not be stiff-necked anymore.
For Adonai your God is God of gods and Lord of lords —the great, mighty and awesome God, who does not show partiality or take a bribe.
Parasha Ki Tavo
Happy is the one who has not walked in the advice of the wicked, nor stood in the way of sinners, nor sat in the seat of scoffers.
But his delight is in the Torah of Adonai, and on His Torah he meditates day and night.
Parasha Ki Tavo
Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.
Do not cast me from Your presence— take not Your Ruach ha-Kodesh from me.
Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and sustain me with a willing spirit.
Then will I teach transgressors Your ways and sinners will return to You.
Deliver me from bloodguilt, O God— God of my salvation. Then my tongue will sing for joy of Your righteousness.
O Lord, open my lips, and my mouth will declare Your praise.
For You would not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it, nor be pleased by burnt offerings.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and a contrite heart, O God, You will not despise.

Then Yeshua spoke this parable to some who trusted in themselves that they were righteous, while holding others in contempt.
“Two men went up to the Temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector.
The Pharisee stood and was praying this to himself: ‘O God, I thank You that I am not like other people—thieving, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.
I fast twice a week and tithe on all that I get.’
“But the tax collector, standing some distance away, wouldn’t even lift his eyes toward heaven, but beat his chest, saying, ‘God, be merciful to me, the sinner!’
I tell you, this man, rather than the other, went down to his home declared righteous. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
