The Troubled Heart
The Troubled Heart
“These things I have spoken to you while being present with you. But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Troubled: characterized by or indicative of distress or affliction or danger or need.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
Peace of heart does not come from denying that there is trouble, but comes from rolling your trouble on God. By faith you have the right to call on One who is your brother, the Son of Man who was also the Son of God. And if He’s going to look after you, why should you worry at all!3
A. W. Tozer
Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world. There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.
Keep your heart with all diligence,
For out of it spring the issues of life.
Keep: to guard, watch, watch over, keep
Some trust in chariots, and some in horses;
But we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
Where or in what is your trust placed in. Is it because of fear that you have developed a trust issue?
44 The reasonableness of trust depends on the trustworthiness of the person being trusted, and no more trustworthy person exists than the God who has revealed himself in Christ.

“Therefore my anxious thoughts make me answer,
Because of the turmoil within me.
Have you ever allowed your mouth run because of the trouble in the soul?
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;
