The Word

This year I want to say there are more scriptures relating to the birth of our Lord and savior than  most care to read. This scripture is very special because  when asked how I knew and how I know that Jesus is more than just a leader he is God. I could only think of one verser so I quoted John 1:1

There are some churches, some cults who would have you believe that Jesus is a good man, a good prophet, a priest or rabbi during his own time. But Jesus was much more that just that!

John 1:1–18 (KJV 1900)

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. 6 There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. 7 The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe. 8 He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. 9 That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world. 10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not. 12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: 13 Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. 14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth. 15 John bare witness of him, and cried, saying, This was he of whom I spake, He that cometh after me is preferred before me: for he was before me. 16 And of his fulness have all we received, and grace for grace. 17 For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. 18 No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

In the beginning – was the Word

The Word – Jesus –

Psalm 107:20 (KJV 1900)

20 He sent his word, and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.

Jesus was and is the Son of God!

John 3:16 (KJV 1900)

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

More than just priest or rabbi he is equal with God

 Philippians 2:5–11 (KJV 1900)

5 Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; 11 And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

Jesus is the Light that shines in the darkness

Psalm 27:1 (KJV 1900)

1 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

John 8:12 (KJV 1900)

12 Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

My thoughts on just what sin is had changed when I heard someone speak about it once. Sin isn’t what we normally think of sin as “being bad” or just doing bad things. Sin is just like darkness. Darkness is merely when there is no light you change it with one candle. Sin is absoloute darkness like it is in a cave when they turn out the light nothing is shining glowing anything at all!.

Jesus is the light if we follow Jesus we walk in light!

Others want to say that Jesus is one way to get close to God that this belief we have is only one of many ways to reach heaven.

Jesus is the ONLY WAY! He is Life!

John 14:6 (KJV 1900)

6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

He was the one who created this world yet the world didn’t worship him!

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. 11 He came unto his own, and his own received him not.  (KJV 1900)

The world said Crucify Him! Even though their messiah was there in front of them!
