The way of life

John 1:12–13 ESV
12 But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.
Read Exodus 19 selected verses.

Ways man follows

1. Flesh - Way of man (self) or forefathers

1 Peter 1:18 “18 knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold,”

2. Natural - People pleaser. world view

Everything happens by chance.
Follow the trends

3. Spirit - Gods way

John 14:6 ESV
6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
Not necessarily easy but good for us:
Matthew 7:13 “13 “Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many.”
Ezekiel 33:17 “17 “Yet your people say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just,’ when it is their own way that is not just.”
Not like the ways of man:
Isaiah 55:8 “8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.”
Proverbs 14:12 “12 There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way to death.” (// Proverbs 16:25)
Jeremiah 6:16 “16 Thus says the Lord: “Stand by the roads, and look, and ask for the ancient paths, where the good way is; and walk in it, and find rest for your souls. But they said, ‘We will not walk in it.’”
Psalm 86:11 ESV
11 Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name.

The way of God is prosperous:

2 Chronicles 1:10–12 ESV
10 Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people, for who can govern this people of yours, which is so great?” 11 God answered Solomon, “Because this was in your heart, and you have not asked for possessions, wealth, honor, or the life of those who hate you, and have not even asked for long life, but have asked for wisdom and knowledge for yourself that you may govern my people over whom I have made you king, 12 wisdom and knowledge are granted to you. I will also give you riches, possessions, and honor, such as none of the kings had who were before you, and none after you shall have the like.”
