Wednesday night Prayer Meeting

Text Romans 8:22-25 “For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children, including the new bodies he has promised us. We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope for it. But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)”
God’s people are in a state of pain. We are groaning and struggling to find meaning in this world. We are at a point of tension where we want to break free but we are in conflict with the evil forces. We are stymied. Paul is saying we are here in the struggle but we have a future release from this mess. It is like we are in labor. Like a mother who has carried a baby and now wants to let it go but the baby is straining. the baby is ready to come but the forces of labor are in conflict. There is straining to let go and to break out. What holds us back can be all our demons and all our cares of this world. We are having a hard time to let them go. For some it is our addictions, for some it our careers and others it is our social life. WE hold on to the old life not wanting to let go the comfort and things that we had before. We are literally torn by the comfort of the old life that has it allures and not will to take the chance of the new realities of Christ’s ways. I saw a video on Saturday night of young man with family and moving up the success ladder liking the acolades of life with his friends, his job, his lifestyle but really trapped in lifestyle and yielding the temptations of drinking and sex. Yes he did have a stressful job as a policeman but was enamoured with all the accouturement of the job. Spirituality was not what he wanted nor believe in. He was on this up success route. eventually he came in for a crash when was caught in his bad decisions. Too many of us become trapped. The nature of Sin is to hold us and grip us and the sense is hold into a literal pit that sucks us down into it. I get this sense from a text we have illusion to “Satan and physical decay, then the Creation itself will be liberated from its bondage of decay. God will release us from our corruption give us new life. So we face terrible times we are convince of so much violence in our Cities,States, our Country is really alerting us the coming crises. Where are we going to run and what will need to lean on.God program of Salvation is not a re-make but of a new creation. God is not going to relegate this re-birth to humankind but to earth and its environment. All of the world and the people of God are going through this travail and we are seeing our our global sin has ruined our world. we all are under the curse of sin and only Christ can deliver us out this bondage. But now we anticipate manumission, we are release from the slavery of this world that has kept us bond. What is so significant here is God salvation is turning us loose from bodily damage of health we have all suffered and He gives us new bodies. This is not just spiritual rapture but physical rapture to heaven. What is important as we wait without urgency is that the pangs and pains will continue till Christ comes so should we being doing something to hasten it. So desire as people of God is to bring the end on. It appears to me that those have stop coming to church and are acting what has Peter states, Most importantly, I want to remind you that in the last days scoffers will come, mocking the truth and following their own desires. 4 They will say, They will say, “What happened to the promise that Jesus is coming again? From before the times of our ancestors, everything has remained the same since the world was first created
