First fruits

Num 29:26 ““On the fifth day nine bulls, two rams, fourteen male lambs a year old without blemish,”
why so specific, giving that one’s without defect? God doesn’t want our worst, but our best. Give him the best of what we have, not the scraps we didn’t need anyway. Don’t pawn off a trash offering to the Lord of “the least I can possibly do...”
Decide to give
Malachi 3:8-10 “Will man rob God? Yet you are robbing me. But you say, ‘How have we robbed you?’ In your tithes and contributions. You are cursed with a curse, for you are robbing me, the whole nation of you. Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.”
-the prophets enlighten the people as to how they are sinning and angering God. These people have failed to recognize that all their resources came from God, this they do not give back to him. They are not obedient, and it demonstrates a distrust in God.
-God wants us to put ourselves in a place where we rely on him to provide so that he can give an abundance and accomplish (1) our provisions, but more importantly (2) His glory in providing.
help me God to rely on you even if it places me in a predicament that others think unwise, but I want to see myself in your hands of provisio. Sustain me that I may continue in your service.

Closing: At the end of the day we must decide to lean on God for provision and our tithe is an act of trust, admitting that we can do more with less when God is with us.
