Things to do at youth group

Learn about Jesus
Make friends
Have fun
Listen to your leaders
Participate
This lis of things is not all inclusive. There are a lot of other things that you will get the opportunity to do, however if you want to make the most of your time here at harvest students then these are the minimum that you should be doing.
Ultimately the main reason we do this is to learn more about God, and in order to do that to the fullest extent you will need to listen to your leaders and participate.
Making friends is also important because it allows you to know that you are not alone in your schools whenever you leave the church.

Things not to do at youth group

Play on your phone
Talk while others are talking
steal from the snack bar
Walk around the room
Unfortunately if you are doing these things it will either hinder other people from getting the most out of the night, or will hinder yourself from getting the most out of it.
I dont mind you using your phone for the Bible app, but its pretty obvious when you start staring at your phone and snickering that your not looking at the Bible.
Yes unfortunately the snack bar prices did have to go up a bit. I tried to keep them the same but prices have gone up so much I did have to raise candy to $1
We do ask that once the countdown hits 0 and the video starts that you find your seat and stay there until dismissed for small groups. If you have trash to throw away, do so on the way to small groups. If you have to go to the bathroom, please wait until we go to small groups or go before we get started.

Core Values

We are Worshippers
We are listeners
We are encouragers
We know when to have fun and when to be serious
If you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all.
These core values are what we hope this group to be known for.
We worship the one true God.
How do we worship
Psalm 100:1-3 “Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.”
1: Shout Joyfully - how do you shout joyfully?
2: Serve with Gladness- Mission trip to Alaska
3: Sing - We just had an opportunity to Worship God by singing
4: Knowledge - Growing deeper in the Knowledge of God.
The next two really go hand in hand. If you want to be an encourager, you have to be a listener, because no one is really going to want you to encourage them if you havent shown them that you care about them by listening to them, and caring for them.
We know when to have fun and when to be serious.
Ecclesiastes 3:1–4 NIV
There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens: a time to be born and a time to die, a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance,
and finally if you dont have anything nice to say, then dont say anything at all.
We want this to be a safe place, where we can grow. Where we can hold each other accountable and where we can learn more about God.
Maybe growing for you would mean serving somewhere, or maybe inviting a friend to youth group.
Last year yall did an amazing job at inviting friends and I gave yall a goal to try to have 50 students here on a single night. We came up just short of that, I believe the closest we got was 46.
But Im going to challenge yall again with the same 10x10 challenge. To have 10 Gospel conversations over the next 10 months while your in school.
