OVERFLOWING GRACE GOD’S LOVING FAVOR IN MY INADEQUACY RESULTING IN OVERFLOWING BENEFITS. JOHN 1:1-5 AS GOD AND CREATOR, HOPE IS FOUND IN JESUS. Response to Jesus JOHN 1:6-18 RESPONSE TO JESUS • Man is challenged to accept the truth of the Light. 6-8 • Man must choose whether they will accept the truth of the light that results in spiritual birth. 913 • As God, Jesus is the source of grace (salvation) and truth. 14-18 JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF GRACE AND TRUTH, AND MAN MUST CHOOSE IF HE WILL BELIEVE IN THIS JESUS. APPLICATION • Our responsibility is to present truth about Jesus —it is the responsibility of those who hear the truth to accept the truth. • The deity and humanity of Jesus are essential elements of the nature of Jesus—we must not compromise on this truth. • Remember that hope is not found in the social issues—hope is found in Jesus Christ. ACCEPT THE TRUTH THAT JESUS IS THE SOURCE OF GRACE AND TRUTH.
