A. If we are going to live a life that pleases the Lord we will have to have Faith.
i) We have been called to live by faith.
ii) Without Faith you cannot please God.
B. Faith is the hallmark of the believer
I) Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith”
II) The greatest sin is not fornication, or idolatry or murder or theft or vanity, the greatest sin is unbelief.
a. John 3:16-18 “”
C. In our study today we are looking at one of the greatest Saints of all time a man who demonstrated faith time and time again.

A. Abraham was a pagan from Ur of the Chaldees when he heard the voice of the Lord.
i) Abraham was not young when God called him
ii) Abraham is a shining example or listening ti the voice of the Lord
B. God made great promises to Abraham Genesis 12:1–3 “Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.””
i) God spoke to Abraham differently than he speaks to us today
a. I those days they had to wait for open vision or revelation from God
b. Today God has spoken thruogh his Son Hebrews 1:1–2 “God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;”
c. We are at an advantage over the Old Testament saints
We have the Word of God
We have the Mind of Christ
We have the Holy Spirit
d.Jesus said my sheep hear me John 10:27 “My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and
they follow Me.”

A. Abraham obeyed God in Faith
i) Abraham did the most basic thing that he could have done he simply obeyed
ii) God desires our obedience
a. So many people are looking for God to do something amzing or miraculous in their life, however these same people will not even obey what they know.
b. Dont look for anything new from the Lord until you are practicing what you know to obey
B. Abraham observed his calling in Faith
i) Abraham didn’t have the slightest clue as to where he was going
ii) Abraham Believed the on who sent him.

A. Abraham had Heavenly vision
i) He walked the earth as a stranger a traveler
ii) He viewed himself as a pilgrim
iii) His sights were set on the things of heaven not being a good citizen on earth
B. Abraham took eyes off that vision

A. Abraham and Sara believed God for the impossible
i) They lived out their faith in the fact that they trusted God for only what He could do.
a. They tried it there way( Hagar and Ishmael)
b. They utimately trusted God’s way

A. They Learned to live a life of Faith even though they never recieved the promise themselves
