Anointing and the Antichrist
The Antichrist- and the Influence of the Antichrist
DENY
1. arneomai (ἀρνέομαι, 720) signifies (a) “to say … not, to contradict,”
Three false doctrines of that day:
1. That Jesus is not the Christ.
2. That God is not the Father of Jesus.
3. That Jesus is not the Son of God.
antichristos (ἀντίχριστος, 500) can mean either “against Christ” or “instead of Christ,” or perhaps, combining the two, “one who, assuming the guise of Christ, opposes Christ”

The Anointed-
That believers have “an anointing from the Holy One” indicates that this anointing renders them holy, separating them to God. The passage teaches that the gift of the Holy Spirit is the all efficient means of enabling believers to possess a knowledge of the truth.
Greek: chrisma (GSN-<G5545>), anything smeared on; a scented unguent or ointment of thicker consistency than muron, sweet oil or perfume. Translated “unction” (1Jn. 2:20) and “anointing” (1Jn. 2:27)
The ointment here refers to the Holy Spirit from whom flows all the gifts and graces of the church.
