Leave Bible on pulpit… **
Good evening/morning, church family!
It is good to be in the house of the Lord together.
Name, pastoral resident.
If you are new with us, we are so glad you chose to join us for worship. I’d love to meet you, and we’d love to give you a gift at our WD.
2 Things I want to put on your radar today:
1) Baptisms are coming up again!
What is water baptism, and why do we do it?
In Scripture, water baptism is the climactic visible demonstration of one’s faith in Jesus Christ.
It is God’s appointed SIGN that tangibly expresses our salvation and our entrance into Christ’s body!
And as our statement of Faith says, “though it is not the means of us getting saved, when done in genuine faith, baptism confirms and nourishes the believer.”
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, and not baptized, what are you waiting for?
2) Second, our Women’s event: Ask Me Anything, is approaching!
We will be having a panel of Pastoral staff answering your questions about God, the Bible, the Church and more.
- This is a great event to invite unchurched friends to,
- To have their own questions answered
- Or just to listen, learn, and experience fellowship among saints.
Questions can be submitted ahead of time online.
Well would you turn with me now to the Lord in prayer.
- I will be using Psalm 67 to guide my prayer. (SET TIMER**)
Blessing/Adoration
Almighty Father, Exalted Son, Eternal Spirit,
We glorify you for your grace, chiefly demonstrated in the gift of Jesus Christ to us.
Father...
1:30
Confession
Forgive us...
We confess we sometimes doubt your saving power,
We don’t lay hold of all your promises
We don’t work out our salvation with fear and trembling
We grumble and get distracted, rather than walk in joy
Rather than pray without ceasing, rejoice always, give thanks in all circumstances,
We forget you, and live our lives detached from intimate fellowship with you
Forgive us for being silent when we should speak...
2:30/2:45
Thanksgiving/Petition
Knowing your grace upon grace, we bring now our petitions to you...
It is your will that all peoples,
those in Bhutan and those in the Caribbean
those in Myanmar and those in Canada
those in Laos) and those in America
Be GLAD and sing for joy,
For your kingdom’s justice and truth.
So begin this global work of spreading the JOY of the Gospel through us –
In our local ministry at The Orchard...
And then in our global ministries:
For our fellow workers in SE Asia in areas hostile to the gospel and unreached, supporting front-line workers and serving in various kingdom-causes:
Mike and Maria
Thang and Alyssa
Gerri and Desseri
The B-team
Nicole
Herman and Mercy
Doug and Pom
Ivor
Robert and Chiri
Joe
James and Ruth
We also want to lift up:
Our very own Ginny Feldman, battling cancer -
Witness to Muslims strengthened through this, for a MIGHTY harvest!
[earthquake in Morocco - >1000 killed]
Let the peoples praise you, O God!
Let all the peoples praise you!
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus,
Amen.
Well now, as we continue in worship, we encourage you to fill out the Connection Card, whether you’re new or have been here forever; its a great privilege to get to pray for you specifically. You can also do your online giving.
