The New King James Version Psalm 100
For the LORD is good;
His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations.
The mercy of God has never been any more than right now, and the mercy of God will never be any less than right now! (lets explore this statement)

*We get this odd notion that Almighty God is showing mercy because Jesus died. That is an emphatic NO! It is a false statement, let’s be careful! The fact is this: JESUS DIED BECAUSE GOD IS SHOWING MERCY! IT WAS THE MERCY OF GOD THAT GAVE US CALVARY, NOT CALVARY THAT GAVE US MERCY!

IF GOD HAD NOT BEEN MERCIFUL THERE WOULD HAVE BEEN NO INCARNATION, NO BABE IN THE MANGER, NO MAN ON THE CROSS AND NO EMPTY GRAVE!!

Again remember this truth we have learned in this class: No attribute of God is greater than any other attribute.

Since all of the attributes of God are simply God, then it’s impossible that anything in God can be greater than anything else in God! That’s correct thinking and solid Theology!

Don’t think for a minute that when you repented and came back from the pig pen to the Father’s house that MERCY then began to operate. NO, MERCY had been operating the whole time!

Through the Lord’s mercies we are not consumed,
Because His compassions fail not.

*Now this does not mean that all of these people will be saved and reach heaven. But it does mean that God is holding up HIS JUSTICE because HE IS HAVING MERCY RIGHT NOW.

*All men are recipients of God’s MERCY, God has just postponed the execution of death to those who do not believe in Christ. Mercy cannot cancel judgement apart from atonement. When justice sees iniquity, there must be judgement.
