Mark 8:11–21 (ESV)
11 The Pharisees came and began to argue with him, seeking from him a sign from heaven to test him. 12 And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation seek a sign? Truly, I say to you, no sign will be given to this generation.” 13 And he left them, got into the boat again, and went to the other side.
14 Now they had forgotten to bring bread, and they had only one loaf with them in the boat. 15 And he cautioned them, saying, “Watch out; beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and the leaven of Herod.” 16 And they began discussing with one another the fact that they had no bread. 17 And Jesus, aware of this, said to them, “Why are you discussing the fact that you have no bread?
Do you not yet perceive or understand? Are your hearts hardened? 18 Having eyes do you not see, and having ears do you not hear? And do you not remember? 19 When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” They said to him, “Twelve.” 20 “And the seven for the four thousand, how many baskets full of broken pieces did you take up?” And they said to him, “Seven.” 21 And he said to them, “Do you not yet understand?”
SIN NATURE: SPIRTUALLY BLIND
FIRST WORD NO…SINCE BIRTH ALL THEY HEAR IS NO
PHARISEES had seen miracles....heard the preach
JESUS “SIGHED DEEPLY IN HIS SPIRIT”
DON’T MAKE JESUS SIGH DEEPLY IN HIS SPIRIT.......THEY WANTED 2 + 2 =4 PROOF!!
IT IS A PRIVILEGE/BLESSING TO HAVE OUR EYES EARS OPENED TO THE THINGS OF GOD!!!
16 But blessed are your eyes, for they see, and your ears, for they hear. 17 For truly, I say to you, many prophets and righteous people longed to see what you see, and did not see it, and to hear what you hear, and did not hear it.
Matthew 21:31–32 (ESV)
31 Jesus said to them, “Truly, I say to you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes go into the kingdom of God before you. 32 For John came to you in the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes believed him. And even when you saw it, you did not afterward change your minds and believe him.
SO WHY COULDN’T THE PHARISEES....NOT ALL NICODEMUS HELPED JOSEPH OF ARIMATHEA
PAUL----ACTS 9......SCALES FALL OFF AND BLINDNESS GONE
WHY CAN SOME....PEOPLE THAT WILL SIT IN HERE…AND SEE AND HEAR....BUT NOT BE CHANGE
18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
INTELLECTUAL PROBLEMS.....NO
CAN’T TRUST THE BIBLE......NO
WHY THE HARDNESS OF HEART......
19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
THEY DON’T WANNA CHANGE. THEY LIKE THEIR SIN. IT’S FUN!!!!! (IF THEY WOULD BE HONEST....MOST ARENT)
I’LL BE HONEST: SIN IS FUN....CHANGE IS HARD....SURRENDER/SUBMISSION IS HARD
Mark 8:14–21 (ESV)

Matthew 6:25–34 (ESV)
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?
28 And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, 29 yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
31 Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. 34 “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
