Scripture: Acts 2:40-47
Scripture: Acts 2:40-47
40 And with many other words he solemnly testified and kept on urging them, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation!” 41 So then, those who had received his word were baptized; and that day there were added about three thousand souls. 42 They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone kept feeling a sense of awe; and many wonders and signs were taking place through the apostles. 44 And all the believers were together and had all things in common; 45 and they would sell their property and possessions and share them with all, to the extent that anyone had need. 46 Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

The Commitment of Being Teachable/Trainable
The necessity of being teachable is a willingness to listen/learn/lean of the Lord through his vessels.
The necessity of being teachable is a willingness to submit to the instruction.
The necessity of disciples who are trained to carry the torch of the faith Matthew 28:19-20
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to follow all that I commanded you; and behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
The necessity of commissioned obedience under the guidance of leadership
The Commitment of Fellowship
The Commitment of Fellowship
The necessity of being around soldiers who are of the faith
The necessity of being around soldiers who are not struggling or into foolishness
The necessity of being around people who love you enough to:
Keep you accountable
Encourage you when you fall or struggle
Pour into you with the word of Life.
Bath you with prayer and motivate you
Build an intimate spiritual relationship expanding your circle of brother/sister.
The necessity of brethren developing a brotherhood of protecting the integrity of the body
The understanding that fellowship is not churches coming together and having meals after church
The folly of believers and chaos of social gathering is not Biblical fellowship.
The Commitment of Breaking Bread (Not a social experiment)
The Commitment of Breaking Bread (Not a social experiment)
Breaking of bread is a consecrated act of priestly duties now given to the church as a royal priesthood.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a Holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
Breaking bread is the extension of fellowship that strengthens the bond over meals.
Breaking bread is also the communion of observing the Lord’s Supper.
This has a two-fold perspective:
Intimacy with Christ by observing
Intimacy with the brethren
The necessity of breaking bread produces a closeness and transparency.
