Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
The Gift of wisdom is is one that can never reach its ultimate potential(NIV84)
The Gift of wisdom is is one that can never reach its ultimate potential(NIV84)
Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.
The brilliance of man cannot appreciate the plan of God
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
“As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
So what is this gift of wisdom and how do we use this if we can never reach total wisdom
Jews demand miraculous signs and Greeks look for wisdom, but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles, but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
True wisdom comes from the power of God which allows the wisdom of God to shine through our wise thoughts.
When we preach Christ crucified we set up stumbling blocks. And what happens when people face stumbling blocks?
Wisdom is the ability to help others to open their eyes and see God.
